it's why Dubas is still being praised by so many fans.
they were even celebrating the Marlies' win as if it were a SC win..
and the GM himself was leading that infantile celebration himself.
low expectations for one of the biggest sports organizations in North America - it's pathetic really. - MaximusAurelius

It's amazing to see how not only satisfied, but downright emboldened guys are with the current situation. Just making the playoffs has meow become celebratory. - aminnes
What makes you think that? I'm sure all fans have been heartbroken with the first round exits. I know I sure as hell have.

Disappointed and annoyed.
It could be age has made me jaded or given me a different perspective, but I just don't get heartbroken over sports. I think the reality is that my life won't change one iota whether or not they win or lose. |

Fair enough, maybe saying heartbroken was a little extreme lol. But what I was getting at is i highly doubt any of us are just happy with them making playoffs like that Amines or whatever his name is, is claiming.

Summertime takes the usual HB idiocy and ramps it up a few notches.
Do your best to post boobs, butts, or make puerile jokes. That is the best way to get through it. |

The best thing that Dubas has done is making sure to draft skill rather than focusing on size. Better than the days of drafting slow defense that are 6'5+ and hoping one becomes the next Chara.
And so many people were complaining that Hunter should be the GM and that he is a draft king. - matt1337

Lmao very true but at least they're being picked in later rounds than the 2nd round.
Korshkov was basically a 1st round pick

Get with the plan, Adam.
Dubas is the best GM in NHL's history, because he:
1/ is young
2/ cares about real important issues (more important than winning a Stanley Cup).
3/ 'understands' how to handle the younger guys
4/ uses innovative approaches
5/ has some kind of magic innate player evaluation intuation that trumps all other GMs in the league
6/ wears great glasses
7/ gives bad apples 2nd chances
8/ is a great negotiator
9/ is a great communicator
10/ goes to festivals |

He's driving me nuts. I have never read more idiotic posts. His infatuation with Dubas is downright frightening. You would think after years of being told you're an idiot you would take a look in the mirror and come to some kind of realization that maybe you should start changing the way you think. I dont know if its bad parenting, a rough social upbringing, lack of friends or what not. I am genuinely concerned for people of his thought process.
Like no one is praising Dubas as the next Jesus Christ. No one is also bashing him and saying hes the worst (except Max). He latches on to any 1 little negative sentence said about Dubas like an infant latching onto their mothers tits for milk.
He clearly has a troubling obsession. He should probably take a break from watching hockey, or maybe follow another team if he hates the Leafs organizational decisions this much. It's not healthy and i feel for him, and anyone who has to live with him on a daily basis. |

Hi Max, I'm 30 years old but thank you for the generosity of age! I hate the feeling of getting older. New pains every morning hahaha.
Anyways buddy i hope you find happiness in life and learn to not let someones decision making get the best of you. We can evaluate Dubas in complete after his tenure as Leafs GM. |

I'm here just for the necessary counterbalance for the Dubas/Nylander lovers and Babcock haters (same group of people).
Taking comments on a web forum too serious is not a good idea! |

A negative take on stuff isn't bad. But a sane, balanced, negative take is preferrable to nonsensical ranting.
Dubas has done some great work this summer. There was a cost (the 1st, Kadri), but what he was able to do for that cost was amazing.
He was also part of the group that drafted Korshkov. It looks like that was pretty stupid. In hindsight, letting McBackup go was stupid also.
