In your defence, golf in Newfoundland is tough, what with the wind and the moose and the rain and the snow...

Cause he signed a contract at 7.5 for six years, if you say cap hit than he's actually 100 thousand more cause Kessels cap hit in Pittsburg is 6.8.
- bobbyisno1

so what matters to you is what the average $$ is over the contract?
not that he got 10+ mil last year and 9 this year? just the cash average of 7.5?

As fans, I an not sure why we would care about that, the Cap hit is whats important to me. I dont care if MLSE pays him 20 million a season. or if he gets 10 million in endorsements

cap is what can affect the construction of the team for the Leafs, they can afford to pay more money for less cap

This is what Marner will realize soon, after he fires his flunky agent.

Meh, change it for the new generation sure. Although when the new generations have to start buying houses no one will have the money to play golf anyways...way too expensive of a sport.

But if regular golfers still want to call it "ladies tees" I don't see the problem in it.

- Santo_44

During the summer months my golf easily equals my mortgage payment if not more each month.

If you count my member fees, cost of membership divided by 12 months. Plus beer.... that one always gets me.

Yup.

I see golf dying a bit in the next generation.

Young Canadians are all in debt. A round of golf for 100$ plus beer? (frank) that.

Play hockey for 15$ a game.

Starting hockey is

But equipment lasts a long time. I probably invest 15-20$ a year on average into my equipment. Plus a few sharpenings.

400-500$ to play hockey once a week for 20-25 weeks? Easy decision over golf.

Rick you may not have heard of York University, let's just say, it's not exactly Ivy League or in the class of those fancy schools in the Boston area. Ferris "attended" York University - I choose to interpret this as he flunked out and did not complete

The father is a different matter. I believe he is trying to live his childhood dream vicariously through Mitch. AKA small d!ck syndrome.

I was addicted to golf in the nineties and if I could turn the clock back I never would have played. It’s a selfish game that takes you away from your family on weekends and holidays.
When you have kids you regret not spending more time with them instead of spending the day cursing and swearing with your golf buddies.
Not to mention the time spent at the nineteenth hole.

When fully grown yeah, and mens/beer leagues.

Growing up and constantly needing new equipment due to growing. While playing rep is real expensive. All the travelling, hotels for tourneys, etc.. it's like 15k a year (one kid).

I grew up in a family with 4 of us playing rep hockey, the amount my parents spent each year was completely insane.

My cousin played Junior B OJHL. (frank) if his dad wasn't retired and on pension from illness, he would never have been able to do it...and it didn't lead to anything other than my aunt writing his assignments for him.
