Halak?
- Snots33_77

He wasn't a backup, he's the guy they should've kept, remember?

I was also being a Richard... Halak was (and still is) a backup, but a very good backup nonetheless

Kinkaid is a fine pick-up, if 22-25 games is what he gets. But, if Price goes down for any length of time and Kinkaid's games is in the 40+ range.....well.....then I think Habs will be in "Lottery Pick" territory.

A good addition, if things work out as planned. He can give Price some needed rest for 25 games.

Most teams would be in trouble if their starter goes down for any length of time, not just Montreal

That would be great, he should have a strong defense in front of him

With all those RFAs who seem far from signing their new deal, you just know there will be a lockout next year.

Hopefully we don't face such a stalemate with Mete.

If he has a good year he could always sign a contract like Sam Girard did in Colorado. 7 years 35M$.

Sounds like a lot of money, but then again it could end up being a really good deal in a few years

Pretty sure it's already a great deal. First pairing d-man for 5 mills? Worth it.

Oh well if it's already established that he's your #2 guy and that he'll play as such, then yes it's a good deal.

By default, no? Not saying he's not good enough to be a 1st pairing guy, but I don't think this was the most ideal situation either.
