History has a tendency to repeat itself. It's not that far fetched. Nylander ain't dat great.

Marner 8x8 and like it? That is downright hilarious. Good work letting nylander bend you over on that contract, bohica, its Marners turn now.

The leaves will have the same personnel, probably less actually, that got them booted in the first round it's just going to cost them another 25 or so Million per year.
That window is slamming shut.

He might. I dunno. I see you keep writing about this. Nylander is better than most are making him out to be. Players show any kind of personality at all and people pick them apart. Then everyone complains that players are boring and machine like. Look forward to next year. Hopefully he does dominate.

I think a 22 year old who has not even come close to dominating, saying he's going to, rather than simply doing it is arrogant. So it's not an issue of whether he shows his personality, it's that part of his personality sucks.

I guess we’ll see. The leafs can’t do any right in your eyes so I won’t worry about your comments.

Maybe we have different perspectives on what dominating is.

I have to agree. Imo a guy who is not even in his prime and putting up 94 points.. might not be dominating... but hes definitely a special talent.

Ultimately it comes down to the playoffs and the leafs as a team, and ultimately as individuals, have yet to accomplish much..

They lost to the cup runnerups in 7 games, without Kadri, and most of their talent around 22yrs old. Think they’ll be ok.

Agreed. Plus I see all the time - this guy's contract will be great when - and this guy did this and that. My issue is winning. Have 10 overpaid guys for all I care as long as they win. Well gee Wilbur, we haven't won a round yet but that Matthews contract looks great. I just don't find that exciting at all.

No problem with different perspectives but you wouldn’t give a leafs player credit if he lead the league. I see your comments around here all the time. Trolling all day every day. They have good young players that seem to be getting better as the years go on. I’m sure they’ll be fine.

While I agree, we have to remember these guys arent even in their primes yet, and while cap space is tight it's because they have, for the most part, young stars. Hard to find a really bad contract on the team with any relevant term. Imo it's been money well spent. The next move is to fire the coach if there isnt any playoff success again.

I love how you say history has a way of repeating itself for Nylander

You do realize that games 1-180 he was lights out. 200-240 he was more than fine.

Poor troll attempt.

Serious question, can a guy who is primarily a setup man really "dominate"? The first thing that comes to mind about Adam Oates or Joe Thornton isn't "dominant".

Ya it looks like the coach is next, leaving the GM vulnerable after that. I think it's a likelihood after this season.

I’d say they were though.. Francis too. These guys got on the ice and racked up points. Threat every time they were out there. I’d consider it dominate.

I think it's safe to call a guy dominant when he's in the top 10-15 guys in the league, especially with how many teams there are.

What's great about this list is we'll have non-Leaf fans scoff at Mitch at #1, meanwhile they will claim he deserves to be the highest paid player in the entire NHL, LOL (Because that's bad for the Leafs and wishful thinking).
