Trading Bracco might be a good idea.. We have a lot of depth at RW, it would suck if he turns out to a 60-70 point guy in the NHL though - PatC80
I always got that Kyle Wellfed, er, Wellwood, impression from Bracco. A guy who had skills, great passing, decent skater, but smaller and plays on the outside a lot. There are other similarities: they both played for Windsor, both had a great AHL season, they have both consonants AND vowels in their names . . .

I heard it’s kept in a locket around Yzermans neck. - Garnie
Huh. And here I thought Babcock could spit it out on a whim.
Edit: I always assumed it's why he has that sour look on his face all the time. |

Use him for a need at the TDL. This is a big year for the leafs. - Santo_44
hmmmm...ltir is going to make this year's tdl challenging.
we won't be able to bank unused cap space, and there won't be much left after marine signs.
dubas and his kronies are going to have to get creative to add. |

I'm guessing that Dubas is holding onto Bracco until the "jury comes in on the Nylander 2020...." ... i.e. does he return to the 60+ point player or other? and then what happens with Marner's contract.
In the event that either Dubas moves Nylander or Marner ends up being traded/offered sheeted out of town (please don't accuse me of sounding like Dreger)... then Bracco remains the insurance policy.

Tanev, Hainsey, Bogosian.
It'll be a fun time in here come TDL.
Can't wait to trade a 4th rounder for one of them. |

Depends for what Marner signs for...but it isn't hard.
50% salary retained.
There is also the option of swapping Ceci out if he is indeed garbage.
Like a Green for Ceci plus a pick for example. |

DAL should be a good team though. |

So, Bracco is just like Wellwood, but like 250lbs lighter? |

this is a terrible strategy, and I doubt Dubas thinks that way
Just like Vesey was going to replace Nylander.
If Bracco was close the Nylander in any way, he would already be in the NHL |

Well, if only it were that easy.
You have to get another gm to take on ceci if hes garbage or another gm to agree to retain salary. |

Yeah salary retention is very common at the TDL. It is really all salary Cap based...the team retaining salary isn't actually taking that much more money back. It happens all the time.
As for Ceci...yeah a contract swap so both teams stay at the same number of contracts. Another thing that happens all the time.
Again, at the TDL there isn't actually much money being thrown around. Its all cap stuff.
And when teams are trading away UFA's they aren't exactly making the move to help the team win....Ceci doesn't matter he is just there to make the trade work.
Like the Z trade. |

I'd actually take Tanev for Ceci plus a pick/prospect.
When Vancouver is a bottom 5 team again it is probably something that could actually happen. |

The only thing Nylander and Bracco share is their passing skills...The Leafs don't have anyone in the org to replace Nylander. |
