Nylander and Bracco for RNH and Puljujarvi.

Du-bas it up!

- Arctic_AARDVARK

That's if Dubas gets Tourette's on the phone with the Oilers or something. Shanahan could probably get the league to void the transaction after Dubas went on indefinite leave to deal with personal issues.

We dont need another center. We cant afford to lose wingers. Hard pass. Imo were giving up the guy with the brightest future.
- systemtool

Centers are always welcomed. Rather have too many centers than too many wingers. Puljujarvi is also winger.

But the real reason that deal doesn't make sense is that RNH is a UFA in 2 years and the Leafs are basically trading forwards for more forwards instead of improving the area they actually need to improve; the defense.

It would be interesting to see what the price tag on Puljujarvi is though. If the Oilers are selling low on him and all it costs is a prospect like Bracco, the Leafs should definitely be all over that.

There is absolutely nothing that suggests Puljajarvi > Bracco

Pool Party is overrated because he was a lottery pick. Bracco is much better.

Bracco is a bit overrated. Pool Party is very overrated. What exactly has he done since starring with Aho and Laine at the WJC?

The NHL is the big boy league and Bracco has AHL player for life written all over him. He's a skilled, one-way player who is undersized. Leafs have plenty of that type of player as it is. Why add another of the same if there is a chance to add something different?

Puljujarvi is 6'4", 205 every game and he can skate.

The idea that Puljujarvi got carried by Aho and Laine don't mean much because the Leafs have Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander for him to play with. Reality is, if he's a complimentary player, that's alright because that's what the Leafs actually need and that's all Bracco would be anyway.

He has been unable to make an impact on one of the weakest teams in the league and no other team is offering anything significant for him or he would have been long gone.

You're rating Pool Party over Bracco because he's bigger? Thats ignorant. Bracco has played with Matthews before. Matthews has proven he can make his wingers better than they are. Bracco is a potential cheap replacement for Nylander if he's traded for a top 4 defenseman.

Bracco has developed nicely in the AHL. If he's not NHL ready he's pretty close. He still has to prove he can be a solid NHLer. But you're writing him off before he even gets a chance? 😂 Foolish. You like that Pool Party was drafted 4th overall. Bracco wasn't a lottery pick. That's irrelevant now.

I could say Evgeni Svechnikov is better than Sebastian Aho because Aho wasn't a first round pick. It doesn't make it true. As for the NHL being a big boy league... Gaudreau, DeBrincat and Patrick Kane seem to be doing ok. But we can pretend it's 2000 again and the Cup champion Flyers rule the NHL. He big! Big good! Who won the Conn Smythe trophy for the Flyers that year? I mean the Legion of Doom dominated the Red Wings in 1997. Big Boy hockey baby! ☺

His development is directly related to the poopty organization he was stuck playing for that dropped the ball on his progression as well as their inability to treat his injuries properly.

Not buying it. Pool Party has to hold himself accountable for underachieving. Too many excuses and not enough results.

It's not ignorant, it's just the reality of the league. Are there small players who thrive in the NHL? Absolutely. But they are in the minority. Do a quick search of how many guys there are under 6 feet in the NHL. They are also much, much more talented than Bracco. The idea that Bracco could replace Nylander is just funny. Really funny.

It's not about Puljujärvi being the 4th overall pick. If you care to read what I wrote, I never once said that he's better because he was drafted higher. He's a better player because his skill set is better suited to allow him to be a more effective NHL player. He's big, he can skate and he has skill that would compliment the other skilled players the Leafs have.

The NHL is most definitely still a big boy league, the difference being the big boys aren't slow anymore, they're just as fast and Puljujärvi is one of those guys.

Everyone not named McDavid has suffered in Edmonton and even he would probably have even more success than he already has had if the team was run properly.
