I believe they tried that in Vancouver without Drumpf... you can determine for yourself how healthy the real estate market is there for yourself.
and Drumpf doesn't have any Chinese money... apparently he's giving it all to the farmers in subsidies and into a savings bank to finance a wall between the US and Canada...
but he does want Canadian companies to sell drugs/medicine to the US at cut rate prices... which part of that is the "free trade" portion - the part where the US gets all the benefit or the part where Canada gives away potential profit? - BorjeFan4Ever
Well technically the entire American government debt is held by countries like China, and every time they raise the debt ceiling they borrow more. |

As of 2018 73% of our debt was owned by the world's public. Of that total, 30% is owned by foreign government and investors for a total of 22%. Most countries sell foreign debt. I also think Japan surpassed China as the biggest holder of foreign US debt and they're both around 1.1 Trillion. So a country like china really only possesses about 4.9% of our debt.
We have a lot of debt (too much), don't get me wrong, but a lot of it isn't owned by other countries and that is a pretty wildly held misconception.

I'm aware I'm "picking on wording here".. but - it must be said, it wasn't the contract impasse that caused him to show up out of shape or at very best "not ready to play"...
it was the player, who has the same responsibility from a professional perspective to show up at camp more or less ready to go - of course not in "game shape"... but at least in shape.
I don't hate the contract, I hate how it went the 11th hour and then really how much did Dubas/Leafs "get" in the contract negotiation/delay? Not much really.
so net net... player shows up in poor shape without any real reason for it... and then sucks for what 15-20 games...
that's on the player... and NO... you can't ignore this - this is the context.
so it should be VERY reasonable to assume he gets immediately back to 60-70pts pace... as this year their is no distraction, both he and Matthews have contracts they should be good to go from Day 1. - BorjeFan4Ever
Huh?
He started playing hockey mid season..............The difference between an Auston Matthews day 1 at training camp his a hell lot more different than an Auston Matthews in December.
What did you want him to do? Play hockey with a team and risk injury? That would of been silly.
It is plain and simple. He was thrown into the NHL in December when his peers were in mid season form and he was in training camp form. You were expecting way too much here. |

while this doesnt show that, it doesnt present a good case for Bracco

and I would trade Bracco for puljarvis - senstroll
That article actually thoroughly owns both Aetherial and Santo_44 and their Bracco stance. The best part is the vote at the end where the vast majority of people clearly voted that Bracco isn't playing 100 games for the Leafs.
Bracco has speed and skill but almost nothing else. All the things he's missing from his game are very important to being able to last in the NHL, especially on a 3rd or 4th line.
If the Oilers offered Puljujärvi for Bracco, the Leafs would be complete idiots to pass on it. With Hyman being out to start the season, Puljujärvi has the perfect frame, skating ability and skill to fill in for Hyman.
And if the Leafs could get a bigger, more talented and cheaper version of Hyman for a B-level prospect, that'd be a huge win for the Leafs. |

Bracco led the league with 31 PPA in 75 games. He is a one-dimensional player who was only relied on for his offense. Most of his zone starts were in the offensive zone and when the play came down to the defensive end, he would change. He hasn't developed his defensive game like kapanen, Johnsson and Moore did before him.
Babcock hates guys he can't trust in their own end. The second he shows how inept he is in that regard, he will spend the remainder of his time in the press box or back with the Marlies.
I'd say it's worth the gamble if Edmonton is dumb enough to trade puljujarvi for Bracco. But who knows, maybe Bracco works on his defensive game this year and gets the chance to develop himself into a potential NHL player. - matt1337
