The next generation of Ottawa Senators players.
- gergeswillems

i was thinking players the sabres can still trade a 3rd pick for.

then not sign.

so they can trade another 3rd round pick for them in a couple years.

Yeah maybe, that'll be the time for a trade.

I would think it would be 3 years.

3 or 6.

I won’t rule out 8 years yet because 80 million for the next 8 years is pretty hard to pass up and we know Dubas offered this.

The problem is his camp thinks he’s much better than he is and I think this will eventually blow up in his face. I mean he will still be a very rich man regardless but he’s not getting paid as much as he thinks he will be when a bridge deal is up.

He thinks he can be Matthews/Mcdavid because his dad and agent is telling him so. Time to get realistic here and realize what you are actually worth.

Anything over 5 years is a win for the Leafs. As long as it's not more than $10M per season.

They've looked at many different offers and each time, it was countered/rejected.

If this drags on into, or close to the start of the regular season, trade him..

Let him sit, should have let Willy sit also.
What is the point of paying him that kind of money for his first year , like the money Nylander got?
Ridiculous.

I totally think that's the plan now. Especially with the Baptiste signing today.

Easier said than done

I would not be surprised if he was around 80 points this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if he hit 90 too....

But he’s not Mcdavid/Matthews. There are no gaurentees he hits his stride every year like the last.

He is just one season removed from 65 points.

- Santo_44

Hes not that far off matthews imo.
Just doesnt have the size, bad shoulder, and scoring touch yet.

Dubas likely has a plan A, B, C and D. A is to sign Marner to a team friendly contract. B is to try and trade him for a very good return. C is to try and convince a team to sign him to an offer sheet and take the 4 first round picks. D is to let him sit the entire season.

We can sit Marner, because we’re trading Baptiste for Eichel plus a 2nd round pick.

I don't like it. Tim Murray will have to sweeten the pot.

More P/60 last year and just under AM’s p/60 over 3 years. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s going to be a battle - Dubas vs Marner

Who blinks first.

We are quite lucky that hes not injury prone. To have a degenerative condition so early in his career...like say...a shoulder....would be a hard thing to cope with..missing 20 games a year makes it hard to be a franchise player.
