Gardiner Bedlam is about to explode. - gergeswillems
I remember the old days when Gardiner was hanging around a young Mike Garnter, and even younger Richard Park, and David Poile, the three of them used to frolick about and just run and run and run all over the arenas in Bern.

Provorov would be great, we need a LD and with The Tsar coming over from the K next year would help him get acclimated to North America with a Russian buddy riding shotgun.
- Komisaurus Rex
How come you don't post in the Habs threads? They must really appreciate your optimistic take and insightful commentary over there, no?

Why in the world should the Flyers be interested in Hoffmann?
Only scenario I can think off is Provorov unwillingness to sign below Ekblad number s
and deal is Hoffmann/Ekblad to Philly for Ghost/Provorov to Panthers |

There is literally noone on Montreals roster who the flyers would want in a trade for provy |

This trade would be a fireable offense by Fletcher |

Hi its Ek. Just calling to see if you are 1 of the 2 mystery teams interested in trading for Laine?
Oh I see, you can't tell me that.
Umm, what about Marner? I've heard about a 1-year $14M offer sheet. Is that coming from you?
Oh I see. You don't have the cap space, nor the draft picks to do that. Good point. I should have checked.
Last question, do you know what Yzerman is doing with Point?
Hello? Hello? |

I think Pit will give Galchenyuk the chance to play with Malkin/Crosby before considering options. I'm sure had he stayed in Arizona, his career would have slid off the map but the Penguins still have elite talent. If he can't make it there he may just not be that good |

I was talking to a source.
Ok, actually just a guy at The Source and he told me to buy a new TV to watch the games on. I asked if he was a hockey fan, and he said not really. I took this as insider info, he knows we're trading Connor to free up space to bring in Gardiner and potentially Hoffman. If those 2 dominoes fall before we get a chance to jump on them, we can always offersheet Marner, who Dubas is extremely pissed with. |

I think Ottawa would be all over a laine trade, hes 21, an elite scorer, and yes would costvhem but is better then anything we have, or will draft in coming years. I wonder if the jets would take a few firsts and 2 high prospects for him. - Scuba_Steve
Considering Ottawa will be one of the worst teams for the next few years why would you want to cough up the possibility of drafting #1 for the next 2 years? While adding 2 more high prospects for a one dimensional player?
Would be a huge mistake in my opinion.. |

If you took a look at Montreal's prospects you might have a different take. Quite a few of them would be intriguing to other teams. Top end prospects don't come cheap. Entry level deals are valued more than ever |

Yep, Habs are just a bunch of bums eh derpa derp. Provorov should come cheap too since he was a terrible -16 and word is he wants out. Leverage is all with the player not your wannabe franchise. |

Jeez it's a wonder why noone on the Habs board wants you there
Using plus/minus as your rationale for a players worth really is just icing on the cake for that cluster(frank) of a post |

Oh I love plenty of their prospects and players it's just that Provorov is more valuable to the flyers than those prospects are. Flyers have been looking for a homegrown no1 defender for what feels like decades and they finally got one. Not sure why they would trade him away now, poor last season notwithstanding
Also it's quite clear by Fletchers moves that the flyers are in win now mode (whether they should be is a completely different argument) so how would prospects in exchange for their top defender help them now? And the flyers already have one of the best pipelines in the league. |

Why trade makes a lot of sense for Florida
Ghost as Panthers selling point to increase attendance as the only Florida player
Provo wanting to play with Bob
Ekblad is very good player and Sanheim/Ekblad a legit top-pair
It's just a question what else is coming back to make also sense for the Flyers

Yeah of course it makes sense for Florida it would be total robbery by them
That's why I said a fireable offense by Fletcher |

No way Hoffman to Oilers happens. Salary would have to go back the other way to the panthers, and if they're really are trying to sign gardiner, thats not happening |

Laine would make too much money for Eugene to pay. It would have to be a sign and trade with the Jets retaining 50%. Bobby Ryan would have to go back to Winnipeg as part of the deal. Eugene wants the Sens payroll to be $100. |

A young David Poile was running around at Woodstock too. He climbed up top one of the lights and listened to Jimi Hendrix play the Star spangled banner. Then he had to quickly run over to Philly to help his dad get the Flyers ready for training camp. |

Oh Ek..
Gardiner is / was holding out for a longer term deal that obviously isn't there. Watch him take a 2 year if he can. This is Cody Franson 2.0.
Edmonton doesn't have the cap space for Hoffman. Florida would have to take back some of their overpaid 7-8 D-men, and why would they?
Laine.. he's going to get signed. Or hold out like Nylander. I don't know. Winnipeg doesn't have the cap space either. |

That is some serious motivation. It is the kind of stuff that saving NHL franchises and dating hot country singers is made of.

Just talked to an Amazon guy who delivered a bunch of paper to the NHL head office. Apparently the fax machine was out of paper for the last couple weeks. Expect the following imminent deals:
-McAvoy bridge deal
-Marner offer sheet for 1-year, $14M
-Point on the way to either Ottawa or Detroit
-like 13 different PTO deals, including Yzerman signing himself to try out for the Lightning. |
