This could have been answered in four short words. Play him with Crosby. |

How can the Penguins get the most out of Alex Galchenyuk?
Package him to dump JJ obviously.

Crosby and Guentzel will be fine with whoever HCMS puts on their line; great players like Crosby find ways to make it work. Malkin needs the right fit for him to reach his best. Is Galenchuk the answer? Let’s hope so otherwise it will be another lost season for the Pens. |

Depends who they get back. I know you're joking but I think the front office would be remiss if they didn't explore this. Galch is a one-year rental as I don't think they'll be able to afford him and re-sign, or find replacements for, Schultz and Murray.
I've never been a big fan of Galch but I'll be rooting hard for him as long as he is on the Pens.
As for Malkin, could the dip in shot assists be a result of lesser linemates?
As an aside, this time of year suuuuucks. Almost two months yet to go. |

Ask Tanner. He'll probably suggest Galchenyuk take over as 1C and slide Crosby to the wing. Then acquire Domi who just gets by on luck and should really be a 4th line winger. |

Im actually super excited about gally. Phil was awesome, but nothing I can do now. Looking forward to seeing a nice 1-timer on malkin’s wing. |

He’s moving a little bit to the west of me. Obviously I’m jacked about meeting him in the near future.. but I’m also excited about Chuk in Pittsburgh. Tojo has provided some arguments that Phil was already slowing down in Pitt and that he thinks it’ll continue. Some guys were saying even if he had stayed his production could be low 70’s and some said being in AZ it’ll dip into the 60’s.
25/45 pace for Phil in the desert is what I’m hoping for. I think he can put up 30 PPP playing with Schmaltz, OEL, Keller, Schmaltz, and Stepan (for faceoffs and Net front) and I think he’ll surpass 40 even strength points. He probably plays with Keller and Stepan while Schmaltz takes Hinostroza and Soderberg or Dvorak |

Do you think his minutes go up from his 17 last season? It would seem so if he is playing on the top line with PP time. |

Not going to read the article or anyone’s comments. I’m sure the best way to get the most out of him is look at charts made by people you know nothing about. |

I don’t think either player will see more than 17-18 on a given night unless the team is trailing. Tocchet likes to give his depth guys their fair shake and I think with Sid and Geno now another year older and with better forward depth I think Sullivan will continue to roll his lines |

I thought Pronman's prospect rankings at the Athletic we're interesting. Pens 28th overall guessing because we have no blue chip prospects (only two guys he's projecting top half roster players). He ranks but also does tiers.
Very Good/Legit Bubble: Addison, Legare
Legit Prospect: Poulin, Hallander, Bellerive, POJ, Almeida
Legit/Chance Bubble: Lafferty, Larmi
Has a chance: Pavlachev, Drozg, Miletic, Angello, Bjorkvist, Marino, Lucchini, Caulfield
Depth: A. Johnson, Reilly, Gorman
My biggest surprises were Legare at 2 already seemingly due to his nasty RH shot as an elite PP weapon (could use that this year) and Bjorkvist at 14 because Pronman doesn't see enough skill. Also Almeida is in a tier group I don't often see him in with some of the team's better prospects. |

Definitely somewhat disappointing that I will only see him once this season when the Pens come to town. I’m digging the optimism though

The Björkvist assessment seems to be accurate. That’s exactly what I saw from him in a couple games I had the opportunity to watch. Good size and fine skating but more like a dump and chase guy. |

How’s Galchenyuk’s passing play? Good vision and accurate passes? Slow footed?
Thanks for the feedback. |

In my perfect world Samuel Poulin and Nathan Légaré will become our less skilled version of the Getzlaf and Perry duo 🤦🏻♂️
Légaré might become a less skilled Bobby Ryan and Poulin a Patrick Killorn. |

I really like his game. I know Vic is a big fan (did you know Vic and Ruhwedel have the same birthday?)
I would call his shot elite but as RW pointed out he hasn’t always played with guys who put him in positions to score. That was by far the biggest weakness for he entire Coyotes roster. It wasn’t that they had bad shooters, it’s that they weren’t being setup for prime time shots. Chucky isn’t going to drive play on his own but he’s not going to be a drag either. Every once in a while he will flat out turn someone inside out. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he is a perfect fit playing with Sid and Guentzel and goes for 30/35 and perhaps even more. I wouldn’t call him incredibly fast but he’s not slow, slightly above average. He’s a much better winger than center. Anyone who thinks he’s a decent center (Tanner) is dreaming! |
