That is my point, 2013 was Bickell's UFA year, actually signing him to $4 mil. was a good deal AT THE TIME OF SIGNING. In the playoffs he was on the first line. I am sure Stan wouldn't have been at the time the only GM projecting a 27yo as a top 6 power forward. - LAHawk
I don't recall that being a good deal at the time . From what I remember a lot of people where scratching their heads as to why Stan gave him that kind of money with his streaky history.
We can debate things but Stan is the ultimate person whom we should be questioned.

Just because we disagree , I've been restrained unlike that bumhole whom always starts poop . Andmive never said anything yo anyone whom I disagreed with that was derogatory. - Taylorst1
I think that may have moved the irony gauge a bit. |

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I have no beef with you or most of these guys in here.
I agree with your point and I do remember that Stan didn't put up a fight or even try to negotiate.
It's hindsight now but Kane IMO is worth 10.5 toews IMO 8.5 would have been a better contract for him.
Seabrook Stan should have let him walk . His term and NMC is awful and that's unforgivable - Taylorst1
How do we know that Stan didn’t negotiate them down from $12MM?
Lots of “in the know” insiders here, apparently.

Ah. You and I are in agreement about Kurashev. I read all the reports on him and then I watched him play a game. Either the kid took what was being said about him to heart or people were way off on their assessment of him. I saw none of the negatives about him. Primarily that he coasted on defense. I saw a puck hound with some very nice nice offensive skills. Much like Danault, I become a fan of his instantly. Further viewing did nothing to dissuade me from thinking the Hawks got themselves a steal in the 4th round. - Elbows15
Like the comparisons to Danault. Memo to Stan not to trade him and a 2nd for a couple of journeymen at the deadline.

Bickell also had 4 points in 5 games during the 2011 PO until, IIRC, he broke his wrist.
I am not one to defend Bicks because he drove me absolutely bonkers watching him on the ice. But to say he only had one good playoff is disingenuous. Points are hardly the only factor as to whether someone was effective in the PO. - Elbows15
He also had a pretty good 2014 tournament - 7 + 3 = 10 in 19 games, 80 hits.
I remember thinking at the time - before knowing about the MS diagnosis - that he was a better playoff-player than regular season - regular season games may have been too fast for him, he couldn’t seem to catch up to the play, get to where he needed to be when he needed to be there.
The game slows down a bit in the tournament, giving Bickel more of a chance to get involved. |

Why is Miami retiring Luongo’s number?
He was there for only 6 seasons - only one playoff series - no Vezina finalist seasons there.... |

Stanbo traded for some guys, so my guess is they play at the start:
Shaw - Toews - Kane
ADB - Strome - Nylander
Saad - Smith - Kubalik
Sikura/Caggula - Carpenter - Kampf
Quenneville
Dach to RFD - jt19[/quote
Dach plays in juniors or the nhl

Last season they had 36 wins, I predict somewhere in the 28-32 win range. |

Your wrong . Dead wrong. I don't live in a fantasy world of using my emotions over facts.
In his illustrious career 395 games played only 136 total points? That's not even 50 percent.
Your argument is based on opinion at best.
This has nothing to do with his MS either , it's solely based on numbers and where he played most of his games at 4th line , bench warmer.
Bryan Bickell was not a true top 6 power forward. - Taylorst1
He sure looked like one in 2013! |

Well we simply have 2 differing opinions and that's okay buddy we don't need to name call each other just because we disagree .
We have 1 or 2 things in common we both are hawks fans and want them to be successful.
Everyone here should respect each others opinions , no matter what. - Taylorst1

I'd call you an ignoramous , but......ah, never mind |

It's funny, back when they signed most would have said Toews was worth more. In any event they negotiated as a tandem like the actors on "FRIENDS." - rpeters01
Guys, no. Toews deserved and deserves everything he is getting paid. Artemi Panarin is getting 11.6 million dollars. Toews is a leader and a force. all over the ice and score sheet and everywhere. enough! He is worth it! No you couldn't have ever signed him for 2 mil less than Kane because of less point production. No. |

Not true and totally your opinion. Toews is only as good as the players on his line and was nothing more than a product of Hossa. I read it here so it's a fact. |

I think DeBrincat gets 80 and Sikura around 40. 95-100 is good for Kane and 70ish for Toews is about right. The team is much deeper than last year, Kane won’t need to be used as much.
I think Määttä get 30 points and is the surprise of the off-season. |
