I'd keep Drake with Kane and Toews -- frankly, that line worked.

Well we simply have 2 differing opinions and that's okay buddy we don't need to name call each other just because we disagree .
We have 1 or 2 things in common we both are hawks fans and want them to be successful.

Everyone here should respect each others opinions , no matter what.

- Taylorst1

Yep, but what do we call this, which you said a few minutes ago to someone who made no personal attack on you - "Everyone who is defending Bickell as if he was some power forward top 6 great player is being dishonest." Is someone who has one of these differing opinions "dishonest", or did you misspeak a few minutes ago?[/img]

The MS wasn't known or diagnosed until a year after his trade. Anything more beforehand is speculation on all of us. But 2013-14 season he wasn't the player he was the summer prior.

Not quite accurate. Not trying to be a pud here, but you've called others out about not using facts, so fair game.

Bickell began experiencing symptoms of vertigo that forced him to miss two games during the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals.[37] He initially believed the ailment was caused by an infected tooth.[38] Bickell's agent later commented that Bickell was suffering from vestibular issues, which hindered his performance during the 2015–16 Chicago Blackhawks season.[39] In November 2016, Bickell began experiencing an unexplained pain in his shoulder and leg that caused him to miss multiple games.[40] Doctors later diagnosed Bickell with multiple sclerosis.[40] Bickell commented on his health by stating, "Since the 2015 playoffs, I've been struggling to understand what was going on with my body. Again during the past few weeks, it felt like something wasn't right.

I think you are overstating what others here have said. I don't recall anyone saying that Bickell was a breakout/great player. They've said that he was a good player that brought what few others on the team did.

Additionally, he was very good in virtually every post-season he played in, garnering over 0.5 PPG while, as you've stated, not always playing on the top lines. He also was a major factor in the 2013 playoffs and was in the conversation for the Conn Smythe.

I'm not trying to over state , it's just that people are making him out to be the next Eric lindros and Bickells numbers and streaky plan tell a different story , sure he had that great post season run I acknowledge that.
But Bickell was thought to be that breakoutnpower forward and he just wasn't a top 6 guy. That's ALL

Your not being a pud. I appreciate any facts and I will stand correct without arguing . I don't remember all of of which you wrote about a tooth ache, I remembered vertigo but I thought he got hit and that's why nobody challenged the vertigo symptoms?

Given that nobody said anything that could possibly be confused with a comparison to Lindros, overstating is EXACTLY what you're doing.

You really want to start with name calling here and adding gas to the fire ?

It's one thing to disagree with someone's opinion and still be respectful it's another o name call , and attack people because your only argument is to attack the person and not the facts.

I hope you have more class to not jump into things and start ?

- Taylorst1

Relax. Its a standard response to someone saying a comment was harsh.

And for the record, I didn't call you a name. Neither did GPS as a matter of fact.

What was dishonest about what I said or how people are making Bickell out to be more than what his numbers and where he played in the lineup to be ?

You can't say if he didn't have MS he would have been a top 6 guy. Nobody can truly pinpoint when the ms started but 2103-14 after his contract he didn't play up to what he played the summer prior?

Bickell also had 4 points in 5 games during the 2011 PO until, IIRC, he broke his wrist.
I am not one to defend Bicks because he drove me absolutely bonkers watching him on the ice. But to say he only had one good playoff is disingenuous. Points are hardly the only factor as to whether someone was effective in the PO.

You just made my point. Everyone who is defending Bickell as if he was some power forward top 6 great player is being dishonest.

Bickell was a 4th line player , very streaky and he had one great post season that was amazing sure, but Stan and everyone jumped the gun and suddenly thought Bickell was this breakout gem , and as we know the ending he wasn't a elite player, because 2 years later he was traded for 2 reasons cap space and he was expendable because of his numbers.

Would you say darling is a great goalie ? I mean by your thinking his great run makes him elite so darlings outstanding play in 2015 playoff run is why Chicago advanced out of the 1st round.

Or how about handzus

- Taylorst1

Bickell as a UFA would of received a better offer than what Stan gave. 2013 had a bunch of dreck for UFA's. Here is the list of off season signings, Ryan Clowe got $4.85, so in my estimation Bickell would of gotten at least that amount.

We can disagree on opinions I'm good with that. But gas lighting and derogatory comments I won't tolerate nobody should.

But don't excuse or overlook at what he said

You know that's derogatory . And your response to excuse it is frankly appalling.

We all have varying opinions like it or not but insults, slander nobody should except that here.

As was pointed out, nobody ever compared him to Lindros. You like to put words in other people’s mouths.

I can say he would have been a top 6 guy without MS because he was a top 6 guy even with MS. Borderline top 6 on a contender maybe, but top 6 on at least half the teams in the league.

That is my point, 2013 was Bickell's UFA year, actually signing him to $4 mil. was a good deal AT THE TIME OF SIGNING. In the playoffs he was on the first line. I am sure Stan wouldn't have been at the time the only GM projecting a 27yo as a top 6 power forward.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I have no beef with you or most of these guys in here.

I agree with your point and I do remember that Stan didn't put up a fight or even try to negotiate.
It's hindsight now but Kane IMO is worth 10.5 toews IMO 8.5 would have been a better contract for him.

Seabrook Stan should have let him walk . His term and NMC is awful and that's unforgivable

- Taylorst1

It's funny, back when they signed most would have said Toews was worth more. In any event they negotiated as a tandem like the actors on "FRIENDS."
