Ive never complained about his language skills. I Just point out that he is the second highest paid player in the league and never finished higher than 9th in scoring league wide for the season. - Brukie
You really can't compare contracts signed in different years to production

If you got Richards production while he was here, for his cap hit while he was here, it would almost look like a sensible contract. Cap hit inflation is very real the past few years.
the line up I outlined protects the Kids and gives leeway to not rely heavily on kids who will have peaks & valleys & mistakes ... could stifle if in over there heads
really critical not to buy thre hype on paper for kids to be world beaters
Chtyl being relid on as #2 is a project at best , not real even if done in camp & exhibition games same for Lias .
If we dont make a BIg type move for center then at least do what St Lou did
& get Bozak type who plays solid and wont be a liability , cant expose Mika , our NEW #1 , or is he ? this season will show that ? gotta get a center ....PERIOD

I get what you are saying. I think as fans we have to accept that even with the hige exciting summer, this is still going to be a transition year. I still think it's a 50/50 shot we make the playoffs. Even if everything broke right, I think 20-21 is the earliest we could make a serious push at winning a couple playoff rounds, let alone compete for the cup. As I said, I'm on the RNH bandwagon, but I don't think the let's wait and see where the pieces fall is a bad idea either.

There is no way anyone knows this. He will get the shot and if he isn't ready so be it.
Also I can almost guarantee in a couple of years there will not be another free agent available who is in their prime and top 10 in the league in points since they entered the league. Those players will be locked up way before by their teams. You have to jump when the player is out there - TPC
Yea ok Nostradamus. Its funny how for 2 years in a row that a high end talent has it the open market JT last year, Panarin this year. There will always be someone. In a few years time Matthews and Aho will be also.

it's so funny, after so many years on this blog, the minute I see the name of some people I know exactly what they are going to talk about without even reading the post
Brukie is obviously going to talk about Panarin's contract every single time
nyrangers9798672456789 is going to talk about JT Miller (after years of talking Dumba-Coyle) every single time
oldschool is going to complain about Lundqvist's cap hit every single time
I could easily write the post for any of these three names and you guys wouldn't know the difference - jimbo83
Hence why you should get out of mommys basement a little more, 30 year old virgin

...and the rules of the game will be the same. They go to the highest bidder...unless they are willing to take a discount to play in NY like Panarin

Both Matthews and Aho are signed for 5 more years. So good luck waiting 5 more years. I guess you want to keep rebuilding till then? Trouba's deal will be coming towards the end.

Ok simple one, in 5 yrs all of the players we will have drafted the past 2 yrs will be 23-26 Mathews and Aho will be 26. Do you see anything similiar?? Panarin will be 33 in 5 yrs, notice any discrepancies??

WHO CARES?
he's only played 4 NHL seasons, he has virtually ZERO miles on him at this point

So you want to build an entire roster of 23-25 year olds? What if some don't pan out? Panarin is a top 10 scorer now.
