Again, Vancouver just paid Myers $7m a year

There is a healthy market for Risto. Tough RHD, PP guys never go out of style

- jcragcrumple

Because one team made a mistake doesn’t mean all teams are in the market to do the same.

I just drink Crown Black. Problem solved.

When I was at my financial advisor’s office last year he gave me a shot of Crown Reserve. Had never heard of it. Was pretty good, although I’m the farthest thing from a whiskey aficionado.

Yeldon was signed late, indicating not many teams prioritized him as a good free agent.

Jacksonvilles line proved fine with fournette running the ball.

no they were not fine

but please continue, clearly you know more about the jags then myself over the last 4 seasons

Sure, good job scouting yeldon

You'll see. Same with risto asking to be traded

Based on the fact he's still here he doesn't seem to have a ton of value anyway just trade him to the Jets for Perreault, Roslovic, and a 3rd and be done with it

Skinner-Eichel-Roslovic
Olofsson-Perreault-Reinhart
Johansson-Mittelstadt-Vesey
Sheary-Larsson-Okposo

Dahlin-Miller
Pilut-Montour
McCabe-Jokiharju

- mattmoulson

I can sign up for that 3rd line and that D is light years ahead of last years dumpster fire. But what about Bogo and Scandella? Where do they go?

Never had it.

I’m all ears as far as suggestions (DD). Crown Black is the smoothest I’ve come across without breaking my bank. It STILL costs me $69 for a mag in NY. I get it for $42 in Florida. Homie > Me.

Picked up a bottle of Jameson Crested in Dublin last year...didn’t last long. Some of the best whiskey I’ve had.

I’m a Bourbon guy. Give me some Woodford Reserve or Makers Mark any day.

Hopefully this is the last of the malcontents (although I'm sure Slow-botka can't wait until his contract expires, and the feeling is mutual).
- Powerslave

Who, other than players who shouldn't be in the league, could possibly be happy with the past 5 years here?

I would be a "malcontent" too if I had to play for a poop team.

If Botterill is going to trade him I don't think he should do it until into the season. He's got no reason to trade him earlier unless Chiarelli or Murray miraculously get hired in the meantime.

Glenfiddich 12 is very smooth, on the more sweet, less peaty side, and reasonably priced.

yeldon sucks because he was not a beast behind a crappy o line in jacksonville and had a fumble in a pre season game

he did out perform shady last season though despite mccoy having to also struggle with a bad o line

and he also beat the bills almost on his own in the playoffs in 2018

but he sucks because people say so

just like risto sucks because people say so

SUCK IT BEADY

- homiedclown

Check this out Homie:
Another internet opinion:

RB T.J. Yeldon

You hear that sound? It’s T.J. Yeldon plummeting to the bottom of the Bills running back depth chart. Yeldon entered Thursday night well behind the likes of LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and Devin Singletary. After Thursday night, it may be safe to push him down past the likes of Senorise Perry, Christian Wade and Marcus Murphy.

Yeldon had two carries against the Colts that went for eight yards. One of the carries resulted in a lost fumble with the Bills in scoring range. It is hard to envision a scenario where Yeldon makes the 53-man roster.

We should all expect that if he's given better zone starts for another team, he'll put up 50+

But why would we keep a malcontent, especially when we have 3 brand new RHDs?

We had no replacement for ROR. We do for risto, and we need a RW/C. Seems too easy

- jcragcrumple

Do we though? Unless you're going to rotate partners with Dahlin, no one other than Risto has proven they can even skate 24+ minutes without physically breaking down. Leave play out of it for the minute. Jokiharju is a rookie that dropped off the face of the Earth in the second half of his games in Chicago and was playing like 12 minutes a night, he's probably going to need time in Rochester yet, Miller didn't even make 20 minutes in Vegas, Montour's the closest, he averaged 22:40 last year for Anaheim and 21:46 here.

He played a ton for a future HOF coach, and then when he was fired, fell out of favor with the next one after going to the WJC.

Even if Joker's not the right guy for that role, we all have seen enough to know risto isn't a 1st pair guy. He's just not. Montour performs the same role on the 2nd pair as risto would. I think risto could occupy that role, but realistically, only one can. Long term, what's his place here?

I like the guy, always have, I just don't see the fit

I bought RedBreast 12 to celebrate during the draft when we got Jack. Fortunately I didn’t wait till the Sabres made the playoffs to have it again.

Could you attribute any of risto's bad play on phail lousley or getting sick and tired of losing?

I'd like to see, before I say:

I guess he is just not a top pair guy.

I think Risto is a top pair guy like Brent Burns is a top pair guy. Give him 60% + o zone starts and he'll put up a poop load of points. But he's not a shutdown d man, and he never will be. We have used him wrong for his entire career, and now montour can hopefully get the advantageous o zone starts risto should have.

Every coach Risto has ever had looked at his size and toughness and said, "that's a shutdown defenseman." And everyone of them has been wrong. He's an offensive defenseman.

If you want to have a different conversation, I have no idea who Botterill envisions actually playing defensive minutes

Good post

I'd be hard to place risto anywhere near the 62nd best defenseman in the league.

Basically 2 top d on 31 different teams = 62

He's better then that ranking

They aren’t in the same stratosphere man. You gotta stop with these comps.

Brent Burns is a guy who can pot 20-30 goals from the D spot.

Ristolainen has never scored 10 in a seasons.

It’s like saying Sam Reinhart can play like Ovechkin

If you give Risto 60% o zone starts on a good team with their 1st PP, he can get 60 points. I believe that

I also think we should trade him

People really need to stop the Risto-ROR comps too.

People wanted more from O’Reilly, and knew at 27 years old he wasn’t going to be in his prime when we became annual contenders

Ristolainen just plain blows

It ain’t the same

And that team would more than likely be a very bad team.

He isn’t seeing top pairing or #1 PP time on any contender

I also don’t care about his super unimpressive secondary PP assists.

For someone who’s undoubtedly great on the PP he has 2 freaking pp goals the last two seasons

Burns is a bad comp. But I’m not sure there’s ever been a guy quite like him. It took until his ninth full season to get 20, and he’s seemingly gotten better from there.

But he's not great at defense, and his coach doesn't ask him to be, unlike risto
