When the D does get the puck the forwards are almost to the other teams blue line expecting a 120' pass. Everyone clamors about Dahlin being our best dman last season need to pump the brakes a bit. He did have 1 more point than Risto playing 4 more games than him, but he had 55 less blocked shots, 138 less hits, and 35 more giveaways. This is all while getting 59% Ozone starts compared to Risto's 46% Ozone starts. Sure he is going to be special, but Risto is a good defenseman too. It's obvious most here never played hockey, and too many rely on analytics to tell them if a player is good or not, but some should take a class or something to teach them about positioning and responsibilities on the ice because many here are absolutely clueless.

i too have since joined the 21st century and bought a smart TV.. i used to buy the nhl package through DirecTV.. i assume the reddit stuff is free, can you get all the games or do you struggle to find them? what about NHL.com streaming service, does anyone use that and how is that/how much does it cost. If MSG has an app that i can watch them on outside of Buffalo how much is that? and which of these services can i record the games on and watch them later as opposed to having to watch them live?

not sure i want to see risto with Dahlin.. Risto will leave dahlin out to dry too many times.. need to have risto with a more solid defensive player.. nothing against dahlins D play but he is still young and i would rather not put him in those situations.

You have a few options:

1. Reddit. It's free, but the picture quality isn't always great, and as homie said, sometimes the streams freeze.

2. You can download NHL .TV through NHL.com (or whatever it's called now). You will be able to stream Sabres games since you are out of the Buffalo market.

3. You could download MSG Go and watch the games there if you know someone in the Buffalo area that is willing to give you their cable log in. However, MSG Go isn't supported on all platforms so it might depend on what kind of TV you got. I think it's only Android and Apple at the moment. Nothing on Roku or Firestick as of yet. There are ways to sideload it and get it to work, but it's a pain.

When the NFL's contract is up with DirecTV, I think you will see YouTube/Google or Amazon Prime get the new deal and do that. There's a reason Jeff Bezos was in Goodell's suite during the Super Bowl last February.

Yeah that would be great. All smart TVs have 4K YouTube and other apps. Time to step up! I have 4K for Netflix and the picture is pretty amazing. I have watched a soccer game in 4K. The picture was great

The NHL could really benefit from 4K. The people that still have issues seeing the puck move on the tv. Could see it a lot better and more clearly.
