It was a civil convo but choosing sides is a matter of opinion of who sides with whom. I side with Vantel with the more in depth posts.

You can agree with people and that's fine. But just backreading all this bullpoop in house fighting of benning bros vs benning haters is pretty much straight up elementary school stuff. Everyone has opinions, which they express in this site, it's not a matter of right or wrong. All this personal squabble between individual posters is ridiculous too. Anonymous accounts throwing personal insults towards other anonymous accounts is straight internet 2019 lol

For starters classifying ppl as one or the other is incorrect.

Some hate JB & that won’t change.
Some are in the middle.
Others not willing to outright crucify him.

My issues are looking at the entire picture during his time here. Some opinions for narrative purposes ignore some details. I myself think he could’ve done better on some facets but i generally am ok with him. I also said this year he’s under pressure for results along with Green & staff. I don’t go all hell bent on every single move & root my opinion of his tenure on one signing or whatever like some want to do.

Wasn't a bad game but Lions have no luck or no finish .

keep an eye on devon cottoy, big receiver from the lower mainland, he is right out of junior football. He is impressive when used.

I'm not specifically calling you out, I'm just stating what I've read lately. Gone are the days where hate was specifically spewed at prock, aardvark, tumble and others. Now it's just run on bullpoop from one side of canuck fans vs the others. Just a little disappointing I guess

Every summer is the same. With no hockey we draw our own conclusions and dig our feet in. Vintsy is a really good guy and we have been on different sides forever. Like I said it is never a contest of who is right.

The media and the general fan base has gotten worse. I think people who listen to TSN 1040 have more gripes because what is being spewed over there and SN650 waves the pompoms.

Would need to be bigger. Canucks would need to have near 11 mil in cap space. So multiple moves would have to happen.

It’s all in good fun amongst fans here.

Where i find things vary is in the details.
Agreeing or consensus at the start of what JB started with here to begin his GM career.
If we can agree he inherited many issues then we can go from there.

In the beginning i don’t believe JB had a choice on his marching orders.

An aging team on the downhill & loaded with NTC’s was inherited. I didn’t see much could be done at that time. If that’s not agreeable then I’m not agreeing with much that ppl post that ignores that. I’ll share the blame on MG FA & Linden for that.

UFA signings is a mixed bag & overall not very good but has gotten better. Idc to dwell too far into the past & rather stick to more recent signings.

Cap management & contracts i’m more than ok with. That’s an ongoing issue that only time will tell & how the future unfolds.

Drafting i’m very happy with but development hasn’t been good enough. It looks to be ok with top picks but after the 1sts it needs big improvement. Utica has to start showing better results for long term success.

Trading has been iffy but nothing major has helped or hurt us to much of a degree imo. It’s an area JB can improve at but it requires a position of strength which we haven’t got to but we are getting there.

Coaching with WD i hated so much it drove me nuts. Green i like but it’s time to sink or swim. Baumer needs to be replaced.

I’m looking for player examples. We don’t have our 1st to go for an RFA unless it’s under 4.6m

Not advantage as in OS. But beneficiary of another team forced to trade out a player to make room.

I still need player examples. We also need assets & picks which we were not in a position of strength nor depth.

It would work if it was Boeser Jake and Stecher. Leafs would have 10.5 in space with their LTIR 6.5 for Boeser and 3.5 for Stecher and Jake.

Canucks would shed 3.5 with Jake and Troy gone plus the 7 in current cap space .

There would be some tap dancing with the numbers but doable. It is unlikely but possible

That sure sounds like a bored summer story. I’d love for it to happen but I don’t think it’s feasible. At least the trade part isn’t feasible.

Podz or V-Pod not sure what is going to stick. He doesn't hover he drives the play. His skill set and style of play is likely to do better on NHL ice over KHL. His best production was on smaller ice. Which can translate into a core role on an emerging Canuck team.

You clearly have no idea how hockey nick names are created. Kolzy, Kolzer, Podsey, Podder, Zensey, Zenner.

Neither is an offer sheet. We’re already down a 1st round pick in one of the next two seasons.

Exactly. 1st already committed. We don’t have the depth to make a trade without gutting the team.

I don’t think this is worth the time contemplating.

I mean, if he would sign the $8.5m deal and compensation was 2 firsts a second and a third it would work, as you need to have 2 out the next three years. I think that’s the only offer sheet they could sign that would include a first round pick.

Marner for Eriksson straight up. Leafs would save $4m per year!

We can OS & lose 2-1sts 2nd & 3rd as well as 4-1sts still but i don’t see it being practical or likely.
