The problem is there is no gaurentee any difference making free agents will be avaialbale in a few years that are as good as Panirin. Then you are forced trading away top assests to try and get that difference maker plus would have to pay them premium money to keep them

Also signing Panirin didn’t kill the cap. A number 6, 7 and 8 d man taking up around 15-16 million per year killed the cap

Not to mention a 38 year old goalie making 8.5 mil a year, now that’s a cap killer. The Paranin signing was a no brainer, the organization needs to place a viable competitive product on the ice. Especially, with the disarray the Knicks are in, its still a business, and sooner or later the “rebuild” tag would grow old on broadway, given the cost of tickets etc.

I for one are excited to see how all these potential high end talent fit in, should be an interesting, entertaining season.
