I feel like with Universal healthcare there are a few issues.
Funding, that would come in the form of taxpayers dollars and I’m not really interested in paying anyone else’s healthcare.
Quality of care might suffer as well. In theory, it should generates more people that need treated but not necessarily generating more doctors/healthcare professionals which places a bigger burden on the people working in the hospitals/doctors offices. We have a significantly higher population than the UK, Australia, etc.
I also feel like private healthcare incentivizes the healthcare professions a little more as well. I don’t think there would be as much competition between doctors.
I also don’t really believe that healthcare is a right. I don’t think anyone’s rights should fall on the shoulders of someone else. - j.boyd919
Beyond the problems you've listed above, our government is too corrupt to administer such a massive program. Sending more dollars through the "filter" of Washington DC would be a disaster. At least half the money would get siphoned off and wasted on bureaucracy. I honestly can't understand how people believe our government is capable of efficiently handling something that size when there's so much evidence to the contrary.
Somebody needs to remind Bernie, Lizzy and that new commie twit AOC that the current entitlements are about 80 trillion in the red. |

I think he’s in a similar situation that Schultz was in Edmonton. He’s being deployed as a top pairing Dman when he’s nothing of the sort. I agree with you that he should be better than JJ but getting Risto would mean that 2 d pairings still need sheltered. - j.boyd919
I'd love to add Risto if it meant JJ going the other way and Gud's contract being shipped somehow so we could re-sign Pettersson.
Anyway it's a moot point since some team would offer more than JJ's bad contract. |

Universal health care could definitely work. It just needs to be an opt in program. |

Rogan had Bernie on last week and that was (frank)ing tough to listen to. The guy just seems so clueless on poop. Taxing stock purchases? Wtf? |

It's crazy to think that since two posters work in the healthcare business nobody else does or they don't know anyone. My mom has been a nurse for over 30 years, cousin is a pediatric surgeon. They'd have much different opinions.

Those top 3 dems are all idiots. Once you get into the lesser known candidates you get people who are actually solid candidates, imo.

Look, I'm a fairly liberal guy and all, but Bernie Sanders scares the poop out of me. Not more than Trump, but still scares the poop out of me. |

Joe... who is in the record as racist? He is just another of the same bland old white guy.

Personally, I think Buttigieg is the smartest of the bunch, but no way the party will get behind him. Or in front of him... |

Yep. He did say that.
Also seems like he'd make a damned good president (at least of realistic hopefulls compares to the recent field). |

She had a really good conversation with Rogan.
That’s the biggest issue with any of these campaigns is that there’s almost zero long form conversations. The debates are horrible. The news doesn’t help. Giving these candidates an hour or two to just have a conversation goes a long way to learn about these people imo. |

Win? We're talking about healthcare, and the dude made random numbers up to my actual real life experience to prove me wrong. Cool story bro. |

About doctor competition: there’s actually an argument to be had that competition would increase because insurance networks would be eliminated and anyone would be able to go to any doctor practicing throughout the nation, which would benefit doctors who are better than their competition. Obviously the counter argument to this is the fear that this would increase government involvement in training and accrediting doctors, which would produce a cookie cutter effect where every doctor just specializes in and treats what the gov deems fit. Competition amongst doctors would still rise but diversity of types of doctors would decrease. |

And I could give real stories. But it's quite obvious reading that dude's post he has zero care for any info that doesnt align with his opinion. So instead he can just get trolled. |

The plan would definitely need to incentivize the quality of care being provided. |
