Yes, indeed. A lot of young people take for granted a healthy body and/or healthy brain/mind. I've told a few people in their 30s that age ~40 is going to hit you like a ton of bricks and they kind of shrug it off, but all have come back to me and said I was right.
Of course, concussions are a whole other realm unto their own and are quite scary. You know, I used to think OJ was just a nutjob, but years later I realized, that dude has probably had multiple concussions which have scrambled his brain. And I don't even know if they diagnosed concussions as such back then. - Hockey66
The FIRST sign of this is not being able to enjoy roller coasters any more... SUCKS... used to ride them all day long, over and over again. Now I ride once and I'm dizzy (and feel like I'm in concussion protocol) for days. |

It’s really good. I definitely laughed a good bit. Great insights from the captain of your favorite team. Super cool. - Grizzsh
Awesome interview, not sure why but the Vitale story cracks me up. |

Very odd day for me personally. I got good news almost immediately followed by bad news. The good news is that Phil got referred over to me. The same referral source was then the bearer of bad news letting us know one of our other clients had just passed away. Then I found out my friends Dad who I used to drink beer just passed away at 76. Unfortunate news about two real solid guys - WSCTeton17
Sorry to hear this stuff, man. Phil possibility is exciting though. Hope you land him. |

From Bernstein: A bit of UFA news with LA connection .....
Kings still in mix for D Ben Hutton. Detroit, Minnesota and Rangers look to be the other landing spots.
Type of teams that may look at JJ as a fall back? Don't see the Rangers, who knows what the direction is in Minnesota (should be a long rebuild).
LA is the one fit where they aren't competitive, probably won't be for a while, but there are a lot o blueline openings. |

This makes no sense for DET or NYR. |

I don't think NYR makes sense but I don't see why DET wouldn't want another high draft pick for a guy they can bury or buyout. They have cap space and are not going to be competitive for at least a couple years. They also have 3 somewhat expensive expiring contracts on D. |

The Pens defensive roster on CapFriendly looks like a Shero draft board. |

The Hutton part makes no sense. JJs contract is too long to consider acquiring. |

Yeah, I don't think Hutton makes sense, either. Maybe a guy like him next year, but not this year. But the buyout cost for JJ isn't too bad. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part. |

Im honestly gonna have a ton of fun with the Pens in the post-Crosby/Malkin era. My inner Sixers fan is gonna come out and it’ll take me back to the peak Process days of getting super emotionally invested in guys that have no business playing in the league.
Hopefully we get a team full of John Scott’s and Biznastys so we can tank in a fun way. |

We just better hope the Pens tank at the right time to draft another generational talent.
The Pens have been on the luckiest organizations in hockey to have drafted the players they did. That luck has to run out at some point. |

Yeah, that's how I felt about Mario, that I'd never see that level again.
None of them equal him, but it's been a blast watching Crosby, Malkin, and Letang's careers. No matter how the team does, I want to appreciate the last few years of their primes because who knows if we'll ever be blessed with that level of talent together for so long again. |

That’s why trading one of the big guns is just silly. We’ve won a lot. Let’s enjoy it. |
