always need depth at the AHL level. He isnt an asset though

Who said no player gets better after 23?

- daryl stanley

Disagree, if they are under a contract they are the an asset, the value varies but an asset still

I guess technically.

I have a few pennies laying on my desk. I guess they could be considered an asset if you want to bandy the exact definition, but are they really?

correct you never know and it wasn't any loss him getting claimed. More times than not players don't get claimed. The numbers back that up.
- daryl stanley

I’m not sure that’s true. The Phantoms really missed having Martel. When the Phantoms played in Charlotte the prior year, folks really noticed the guy—thinking he was a high draft pick. He might not have gotten his NHL shot yet, but at the least, he is noticeable and a very good AHLer.

On NAK, he has another chance to prove himself this season. If he earns a spot, fill-in or call-up, we’ll see if he has improved.

The problem with NAK is too many have passed over him. If he’s claimed then het gets another chance and the Flyers will survive and replace his roster spot accordingly

No issue here either with the pick. The flyers just lack that true sniper is all.
- daryl stanley

Ummmm, Kevin Hayes?!?! Gonna earn that 7 mill with 45+ bardown snipes this year. Then Chris Stewart is good for a solid 30 coming in hungry on that PTO

Can he be included in a deal? Yes. Are players with contracts that are too bad to trade an asset ?

Pitching is a disgrace. They should apologize to the fans for how awful the pitching is

1) Agree with Fletch that Frost/Farabee/Ratcliffe would all benefit from a little/a lot of time in LHV. The first two probably don't need much seasoning. Ratcliffe could use a full season or more,

2) My money is on Rubstov to make the team out of camp instead,

3) Hexy made the right call w/ Hart starting in LHV last season. He didn't play that well at the beginning and it took awhile for him to get settled.

4) They really need Brian Elliott to be a rock. Hart's gonna have a fantastic career, but it'll be perfectly normal if he stumbles a bit next season.

so let me be more clear. Do you think you can get a draft pick for him in a 1 on 1 trade? yes or no.

I think you could get a real late round pick. That of course is not my point, asset management is my point.

It would be me saying

They flyers signed him, he must have a chance right? If he had a decent season this season, he might be worth a 5th round pick?

All of of might be true or not but as a GM, your job is to maximize the asset. You don’t sign him just to say, let’s do this for the hell of it.

Business doesn’t work that way.

FYI- no need to make it simple, simple is, simple does.

Tampa claimed Danick Martel last year and then left him as a healthy scratch in all but 9 games. So you never know.

Refresh my memory please. Wasn't Rubtsov rated higher than Vorbyev but the injury set him back? This would have been 2-3 seasons ago.

I'd still take Paul Byron at 3RW.

No the flyers signing him doesn’t mean he has a chance. He is ahl depth. Though in your eyes that’s an asset.

Elias Pettersson ranked #20

So where does that say Couturier should be ranked?

Coots is a driving force for the Flyers. He wouldn’t be in my top 10, but he’d definitely be in the 11-15 range on my list.

I would say yes but I'm biased.

Did any other panelist have Coots in the top 20?

As far as Giroux.... #disrespect
