So this is the year we should find out if Hynes and Nesreddine can coach.

Both guys now have real talent to work with and a lot of things to figure out.

Yes Erika is a keeper, but please get rid of Salvador and Dano from their media roles. Loved Dano as a player but can't stand listening to him or Bryce when they speak

I quite like Dano - he can only get better and his voice is an excellent voice for TV. I heard a quote about his voice "He sounds like what testosterone would sound like if it talked". Contrasts well with Cangelosi's voice, too.

Salvador needs to work on his speech and presentation. He sometimes struggles to phrase - seems like he's lost sometimes in his own jibber jabber. He just needs to speak more slowly, more annunciated, and say more interesting things.

and I have no issues with saying buh bye to either of them. Obviously I hope they succeed and we win, but there's no emotional ties here. Nesreddine continues to underwhelm me, and Hynes' biggest strength has been not losing the room.. which says something, but now lets see if his strength can be winning games with a talented roster.

3yrs 3.73 for Butcher. avoids arbitration. I like it. Next up is Zacha and then we're good to go.

Takes him to UFA. I dont mind it the deal though, good term and fair AAV. Hopefully he can make some improvements in the D zone this offseason

our whole team is on the 3-year plan. It's not a bad move to make, just funny how all of our contracts except Severson expire within the next 3 years. Severson is in 4 years.

All part of Ray Rays master plan to keep himself employed.

3 yrs is perfect for us and Butcher.

So do we pick up Shattenkirk on the cheap when the Rags buy him out?

NO. Do I have analytics to support this? no. But he's looked worse and worse. We have enough bottom-4 and bottom pair dmen..

He did have a knee injury that ruined his game but I'm not really arguing for him. Just wondering if he can rebound. Us or the Islanders could try to sign him for 1 year with the incentive of he gets to stay local. If he plays well he'd be a good trade chip at the deadline. Same with Gardiner if he's willing to go short term...

But realistically I think Ray Ray is done (other then Zacha) and that's fine.

Butcher was fine defensively last year. We had some of the worst goaltending in the league and the rest of the defense around him wasn't great. He wasn't a liability last season and a much improved team around him will make him look better. The underlying numbers for his defense was fine.

Shattenkirk his entire career is a very sheltered defenseman getting the vast majority of his starts in the offensive zone. He was an acceptable defensively based on what his offensive output was going to give you, but after that knee injury he just hasn't been good. Maybe this year will be different but I'd rather to stay away from an aging defenseman off of a bad injury. Butcher is a very similar to Shattenkirk with potential to improve.
