Wow nikita gusev!.. didn't expect that awesome..ppl compare him to vadim shipashyov (or however u spell his name lol) but i dont think he had the chance with Vegas that nikita will get (top 6 role pp, etc) because Vegas is very deep at forward (and impressive)..i understand why their gm wouldn't want to trade anyone on his team for someone technically unproven..that being said nj is lucky this talent was available thank to the good ole salary cap

Can't rule out trading Zajac. He would be a great addition to any team looking for a shutdown C with great pk abilities. His faceoff% is unreal, and the devs could easily afford to retain 50% if the return was good enough.

He has a no trade an no way Shero trades a life long devil. He means a lot to the locker room. Also if he is that good, then why trade him?

she is impervious to any such thing. she is walking and talking perfection, lolol. Girl is a winner though. All about that positive energy. It's really incredible the change our organization has undergone the past few years with the roster, the culture, the broadcast, public relations.. the whole thing. The newer regime gets my nod of approval.

Yes Erika is a keeper, but please get rid of Salvador and Dano from their media roles. Loved Dano as a player but can't stand listening to him or Bryce when they speak

I heard she is getting married which reminds me of a joke:

On his wedding night the groom's father tells him once he's married there are three types of sex he can expect:

1st year you have 'house sex'. You have sex anywhere and everywhere you might be. Laundry room, garage, kitchen... where ever. And it's wild, crazy and great.

Years 2 to 6 you have bedroom sex. A little boring and predictable but not bad and pretty reliable.

year 7 you get to have hallway sex. What's that asks the groom? You pass each other in the hall and one of you says '(frank) you' to the other....

- Queenie_5_hole

Funny - I always heard #3 as "Oral Sex" since they're saying FU but "Hallway Sex" works well too

I can handle both of them. Sal is a bit flat sometimes, but he's also new to the broadcasting thing. Was last year his 1st or 2nd season?? Dano.. it is what it is. He's not great, (neither is Cangi), but he's bearable for me.

I agree in that Zajac has more value than people perceive

Maybe 3rd now, not sure? Cangi is no picnic either. Strangely I can't get enough of Chico. He just makes me laugh! Used to love radio by Randy Velischek (sp?)

So no more moves, please. Best offseason since (read article on it) 90-91. Agreed. I logged in here to see what the thoughts were on adding a defenseman like JG and glad we’re not.

What I love is now the pressure is off Ty with JPS to let him get his foundation set and he will, IMO, explode. Many wanted him here last year, smart move sending him back. Now he will have some senior citizens to learn from.

The rags (notice no capital “R”) and every other cap strapped team out there will need to get under the CAP. Shero played this so well.

Our D is set. What other player out there would you like to see as a fit for NJ in the 3 mil range? I would move Zacha once signed and then call Minnesota or any other team and package him for a fourth line vet on a two year deal plus cap space a year. I would also inquire about this guy as Nashville is strapped: https://www.capfriendly.c...parables/craig-smith-5247

You'd move a 2nd/3rd line Zacha for a old 4th liner?

I’d inquire, plus when has Zacha been a 3rd or 2nd line center? Yes he’s young but I’m done with his inconsistency. I want a fourth line winger to add depth so that when we have an injury, and we will, he is great depth. Plus I would also want a second round pick or a third that I should have mentioned. My bad.

6’1 208 and can add some more grit is fine by me.

We arent trading a 22 year old center who has shown to be one of the more elite penalty killers in the league, and started to get on a roll down the final stretch of the season, for a 4th line vet.

So who would you like? Stay within a 3 to 4 million range and let’s trade mono / mono.

I don’t think Zacha has the ability to be a 4th line center. While he may be wonderful on the penalty kill, he has not been consistent and if I could move him I would for picks. Forget the player. Would you move Zacha for a second and third for next year or a 2nd and 3 rd to replenish what we gave up for Goose? I think I might... Let’s see what Zacha strikes a deal for. If it’s 1.8 per year over 3 keep him. Anything above 2 mill I want picks and will get them plus a rental for one year.

I keep Zacha. He might not tickle your offensive pickle but stats show he is one of our best defensive forwards. And when it does eventually click, he has a great shot and underrated playmaker. It'll all be on display with this team we have.

No, i wouldnt move him for picks. I dont see us moving Zacha, and if we do then we'd only do it if its worth it, ie being part of a package to bring in a top LHD. I dont see that happening though, we should keep him and let him keep developing his strengths. He's looking like the best bet to take Zajac's spot as our 3rd line defensive/shutdown center and PKer when he's ready to hang them up, which is probably in 2 years when his contract is done.

Fair. I know what he did at the end of last season. I would like that spot, 4th line center, to be open for our kids in Binghamton to strive for. If Zacha is at 8 goals and 6 assists as a fourth line center in the NHL come March of next year, has no positive +/- and does nada but being a “defensive specialist” that will not cut it in the Metro.

IMO, for a 6th pick in 2015, cut my losses and let our kids in Bing play their ass for that spot.

He just does not deserve it especially if he is making more than 2 million per year after arbitration.

Just my thoughts and I think you are spot on also.

Should we keep Zacha or should we put him through a wood chipper? Tough to say.

Yeah, he might be an elite defender but if I keep looking at all of the other players we could have drafted it makes me think that he should probably never play hockey ever again.

but, on the flipside, if we drafted a productive player over zacha, we maybe don't land hischer or Hughes.

I'm just joking, Zacha is a productive player. Just not and offensive one. If you get a regular NHLer out of the first round, especially with our terrible track record, you can't complain in my mind.

I just want a little more from him. just a little more. Be more like Madden, and less like Pikkarrainen.
