A couple guys out there that did not receive qualifying offers could be good adds at the right price. Ben Hutton, Tobias Rieder, maybe take a chance with Danny Audette (Donald's kid born here in Buffalo).
Also, just saw Baptiste wasn't qualified.

- adambuffalo

Reider sucks. Too many defenseman to take in Hutton. I would do Audette, but for Rochacha help only. Baptiste, not sure I'd offer a 1 way.

Playing guys on their off-wing is not inconsequential. Most simply aren't as good there. If you want to flip multiple 3rd line quality LW's over, you're asking for problems and you have few options if it doesn't work.
- Lunaion

Samson, maybe Thompson if he shows improvement, and Okposo on the 4th line. You're really only looking for one guy to switch sides. As discussed before, trying Vesey with Skinner and Jack on the top line with Sam helping out on the second could prove to be a good combination to have two lines that can score.

We have to wait for some of Botterill's bad decisions to age off the roster before he can make more moves?

So he got himself into a jam with Scandella, Sobotka and Hunwick, and we should admire his patience in not solving the problem he created.

Brilliant

Very good point. Samson is definitely good enough to anchor his own line. Agreed.

Rieder had some success earlier in Arizona and wouldn't be bad in the bottom 6.
Hutton would be an upgrade at LD over Scandella or Hunwick, unless Scandella returns to the player we traded for.
Baptiste was not a brought up for consideration, just an observation. However, if he goes unsigned, I would offer him an AHL contract. Think he was a fan favorite in Rochester.

Reider just couldn't keep up and I think we have plenty of depth at wing where we don't need him.

Hutton would be an upgrade over them, but as of right now I don't think either is playing of those two, Hunwick for sure. If Joker is in the minors, Nelson is waived and Bogo/Pilut stay out longer than expected, we might be fine for a couple months. Once LTIR players return, too many cooks in the kitchen. Like the player somewhat, just don't think there is room here rt now.

The article is from March. A lot has changed since. Still moves to be made though.

Yes, good read to reflect on changes we have made and critics thoughts back in March

Even in that scenario, you're talking about a 2nd LW competing with Thompson and your only other natural RW is Oglevie. Maybe JS Dea or Lazar have some comfort there, as right shot C's.

There's gotta be more moves coming, even if it's just for depth. If Sam got hurt, they'd be lost right now.

Sabres would be foolish to not take a look at Sam at 2C if they don't bring someone else in.

He needs to have a big year to get paid big $.

If I'm the Sabres, I have him prove his worth driving that second line, on the wing or center.

Should help with contract negotiations.

If he puts up 65- 70 points mostly away from eichel, pay the guy. 8 x 8

I agree. Might be able to package one with a Risto deal but more than likely we might get one or two late picks for a couple of our 2020 UFA’s

He will be on the second line. There is absolutely not doubt about that

When your #2 RW is Okposo, how can you consider that?

Still think he's Mitts' winger. We shall see.

Any article I've read on all the sites I visit all bring up the injury. At this point I'd rather bring in Phaneuf on a PTO.

You are. He's not injured badly. That's speculation because teams aren't going long term like he wants. He had two separate doctor's check him out and said he's good to play. He might need surgery next summer, but isn't the issue.

Hey baseball fans, I have a question. I’m heading to NYC in a week or so and want to see a Yankees game. Our hotel is in Times Square.

1. How do you get to the game in the Bronx via public transportation?

2. How safe is it to get to the game from the subway? Like normal big city keep your eyes open/ scary big city where the cops tell you to get back on the subway/ or charles Bronson in Death Wish 3?

3. Is it a fun place like wrigleyville in Chicago where you can grab a bite and a beer without being accosted?

Planning on going early and taking a tour of the stadium.

Thanks.
