I highly doubt the Canucks terminate his contract. There would be cap recapture and termination penalties (ala Mike Richards) for a number of years. My guess would be send him to the AHL, lend him to Dallas, and then eat some of his salary and trade him part way through the season.

Oh yeah. I think that could go either way, but it’s certainly possible Makar does better. It’s possible Fox or Brannstrom do better also. Some very good offensive dmen coming in this year.

no... just some finessing of paper moving players to fit what they want and when. They have some decisions to make on who to keep around and add. You've said it before they probably are not done on trading before season starts.
