I don't understand why you don' think he makes the team? He was excellent when healthy. As long as he is healthy, he should be a lock. Staying healthy... well that is a whole different conversation.

I was referring to all 3 of them making bottom 6, which is why I used and, not or.
At least one of them won't make the team period, is my guess.

Edit: Jake, Leivo, Roussel on return, Beagle, Sutter, Motte are frontrunner for bottom 6, possibly Zacmac or Bailey.IMO

You’d be pretty surprised if qh got 40+ points because of a rookie on another team?! That’s odd.

I agree with maki: makar, both hughes and kakko are the front runners to start the year

- neem55

I should have used the bold tabs. I meant I would be surprised if it was going to between the Hughes kids with Makar probably being the better D rookie.

I'm not even sure he'll be in this falls camp but he did make a comment a few weeks ago about planning to make it this season. He may just decide he'd be better off focusing on camp in Sweden for his draft+1.
- boonerbuck

I would agree. Just looked at the hypothetical of his talent fitting in. If Canucks wanted him at camp they would sign him. Given their contract situation it seems unlikely unless they make other moves first like trading away LE and other vets.

Right now they have a lot of bodies already on active contracts and about to add 2 RFAs. It is crowded for bottom roster spots and extra D. Even competition for who's in the top 9.

I am interested to see how the Calder race works out, there will be some exciting players to watch, I would be ecstatic if Quinn was in the running.

But there are at least 4 players that have potential to win the trophy, Makar, Q. Hughes, J. Hughes, Kakko.

I think Jimmy Bob has built us a good ship . I think a lot has to go wrong for us not to compete.

If we end up at 85 plus good for them but I think it will be a lot different from what we have seen in the last 6 years

With Edler stealing all his PP time, I doubt he breaks 75.

Makes sense. Since Roussel is out on injury that allows for some surprise add or keep of player. Could you imagine the tirade if LE was kept?

The signs are there but there will most likely be a time where Edler Sutter Tanev and Baertchi are all out with injury. Never know how injuries will play out and how the new players will gel.

But yes we are in for a treat this season.

I think I'm going to go drift dome dry flies for trout. The water levels are decent this summer. We are still getting periods of heavy isolated rain. Keeping the Cariboo waters cool as well. I'm thinking the Horsefly River will be good. I usually do the Chilco River at this time of the year but I need to fix my outboard jet before I can do that and thats not happening any time soon. I can use my raft on the horsefly. There's also the Blackwater but I'll go for less but bigger fish on the Horsefly.

No steelhead trip this fall.

I was listening to the radio today and it was this female reporter who covers the Canucks and Whitecaps, when asked where she thinks Jake will play she said 4 th line. She also said she thinks Sven will play third line and she figures Gaudette will be sent down.

It made me think if Leivo and Jake are fourth lines then the depth is pretty good IMO. The quality of call ups should be a hundred times better than in the last 4 years.

If we see Virtanen playing as a regular on the 4th line I won't be thinking depth I 'll be thinking about what an awesome GM Benning is.
