I hope I am wrong . It would be nice seeing third liners putting up 15-20 goals. I am not a fan of his but I wish him/us well.

The concussions and other injuries really removed Sven from being a part of the plan. I'm not saying core but if he was healthy, playing more, I think he would have been fine on 2nd line wing. We could have spent more on d and only picked up one of Ferland or Miller.

I fear for Sven's health with those concussions. He should retire, its scary.

Sven won't be able to put up points if Sutter is his c

Waiting for Boeser to sign on day 1 of season.

I think they could sign Boeser today if they wanted too. Moving Schaller and Loui to Utica gives then 2 mil or 7 mil in cap space.

The last I heard was BB and Canucks are discussing term and may be a 4 year or less deal.

I think it is better to see what guys like Laine and Connor sign for .

I agree about Sven and Sutter not having chemistry

All these RFA's know that the cap is going to sky rocket with the new TV deal. Why sign for long term when you can "automatically" get a couple million more in a few years.

Should make a few changes to the new CBA.

I was wondering if the new CBA will cover max contracts for RFAs coming off ELC.

I honestly don't know where I stand on the issue. Part of me likes the cap certainty and part of me likes the chaos

The whole intent of the cap was to put all teams on an even playing field, unfortunately, with different tax structure, for teams around the league, that doesn't happen.
I am of the opinion that, too much money goes t top players leaving the mid-tier unaffordable, maybe they need to look at the percent of cap hit that a player can earn, needs to be looked at, as well as having set salary with performances bonuses as a top up.
If they were to go that route, then players that have good seasons get paid and players that struggle only receive their set salary.

I see we're arguing about the nonexistent cap problem.

#Canucks Toni Utunen and his U20 Finland team up 3-2 over the USA U20 White split squad after 2 periods in WJSS exhibition play today. Utunen grows on me with every viewing of his play. He is such a steady puck moving defence minute muncher.

Nice. Seems like he could be a good depth guy. He and Brisbois seem very similar character/defensive guys.

I think by the end of the year we may see Lind and Juolevi in Canucks blue. Utica will be much improved imo.

Last year was a gong show in Utica, he will have better players to play with this year.

Boeser 7
Bonuses 3.5
Tanev or replacement 4
Stetcher 5
Virtanen 3
Beiga, Fantenberg, Leivo, Motte or replacement 5

I think that is a more realistic breakdown, it's over the 24 M discussed but I think something will happen this year before Roussel returns to clear some salary IMO.

Could be a Sutter buyout still although I think Monday is the deadline.

Even still he is still a ways away. I think he will have a better year but My Guess is he is in the AHL for another full two years.

It's been a gong show every year in Utica. Not enough talent and too many call ups.

That's what most AHL teams experience although Van has had a very small amount of prospects play for their farm team comparatively which doesn't help.

Hope your weekend is going well so far!

New blog just posted, breaking down the second half of the Canucks' schedule for next season. I have to say, Meaningful Games in March seem like they could be a possibility...

The freak out is about our Cap Issues in 2021 when Hughes will get a 12 million raise and Beagles 3 mil will cause problems
