Uhm yes he does.. - onesmallleap
It's really an open-ended question, does he or doesn't he, depends on the situation (team) and what the expectations are. There's been a lot of bottom six guys thrust into top six roles on various teams.
Jakes head just isn't good enough to play top six for a good team, if he was a natural banger with a mean streak, ok, he could because he can skate and he can shoot. He just doesn't know what to do with the puck more often than not. |

Why would you retire from doing nothing?
Why do you think I haven't retired yet.

My wife didn't like the headache so we sold it, at a loss, and decided to just travel back and forth, winter there, summer on the island. |

Before the lockout not many teams were making money. Players salaries still account for 50% of the revenue. Having more teams being able to remain afloat allows more players to earn a living playing in the NHL. I don't think the NHLPA suffered. - golfingsince
You missed the point. They were screaming about salaries and they're right back to 12M contracts. |

I've been trying to get out of the overseas business for the past year but they keep sucking me back in. I told them enough's, enough, I'm done. |

He needs to play on a take the puck to the net line, try to win battles in the corners. His thought process doesn't allow him to play with the better players at this level, it's too slow. |

Talent and brains are 2 different things it's a shame he doesn't have both. - A_SteamingLombardi
Yes his natural Hockey IQ is at best questionable. Though he is trainable. Hit, dig out the puck, and drive to the net. |

He's certainly a straight-line player, but as you correctly say, his brain just doesn't allow him to play with skilled guys and he's not naturally a mean person. So a physical game, as much as he tries or is proded, just isn't within him. |

Easier to package him with Tanev, I'd rather have smart players. |

I like him on that third line, but I wouldn't be upset if they traded him.
It's early morning here and I've given my notice, one week to go, I'm doing absolutely nothing and getting paid for it, pretty much feel like Loui Eriksson |

If he can't beat out Goldobin for a top six spot, you think he is going to win one from Miller, or Ferland or Boeser? |

The point is that the teams make money now, not just a select few. Revenues are up, so are salaries? The league is much healthier now, which allows players to make that money as well as most of the owners.
Aren't things like jersey sales now split 50/50 compared to 57/43 for the players beforehand?
They split 50/50, that's pretty fair. The NHLPA side assumes the risk, whereas the NHL side pays the bills.

Did I go overboard last night?
Anyways, i looked for that bourbon drink you mentioned. Didn't see it, i'll have to look online. The most promising part is that it's not sweet. |
