They just made the playoffs 2 years in a row and even won a round last year.

Where in the hot fawk did I say that? You might wanna change your translation settings from gross exaggeration to English for beginners.

Pre-Brackett as DAS the only pick that has any relevance is Horvat - Benning was hired a month before the 2014 draft so how much say did he have in it? Who made the Demko pick? Aquaman choosed jake - who picked "It is What it is McCann?"

Judd wasnt named DSA until Aug 2015 so who made the Boeser, Gaudette picks? More than likely Benning but Brackett was in charge of USHL so I assume he had a say in them - Lockwood, Rathbone, Madden picks were probably his. By giving Brackett credit it doesnt mean I'm poopt!ng on Benning. Hell I even liked the LInd, Gadjovich picks. I wanted Hague instead of LInd tho.

Seems like picking by committee but hey, to each their own opinions.

I like that, good burn Brooksy.

It did seem like you were giving Brackett the credit but I stand corrected.

I don't think it's too bad but Podzolkin missing is clearly his bias. I know he had ranked him pretty poorly at the draft.

I don't see how OJ is over any of those players.

Normally when I see lists like that, you seen some sort of bias as to why they have the players ranked that way. With that list, it literally looks like a random collection of players assembled. A computer generated list of at random names.

2nd highest PPG rate in the AHL for defensemen last season among rookies. Higher than Vilimaki who's ranked 23 on the list. Obviously scoring isn't everything unless you are Burns or Karlsson then no one seems to care how bad you are defensively.

I think id take him over Henri Jokiharju for one. I looked over a few other D-men, hard to compare as lots are a year or 2 younger, seemed biased toward recent drafts.

I would love to see a full season. Playing in Liiga, he improved a lot over that season

Ive always thought of OJ as a player that rises to the challenge. Needs to be challenged though.

His offense is fine, it's his defense that's been the issue. Valimaki is considered to be pretty decent defensively for his age.

Guys like Pouliot and Clendening put up good offensive numbers in the AHL as young players as well but they sucked defensively.

Hopefully OJ can stay healthy and improve his defensive play. Because his playmaking from the back end would be nice to have.

Like any preseason list, there will be a lot of misses. I sold Kotkaniemi and Tkachuk short, but was bullish on the likes of Timmins and Tolvanen. At the same time, I caught hell for Cirelli, Veleno and Farabee and all three had fantastic 2018-19 seasons.

Last year’s list had several prospects (Mittelstadt, Donato) whose late-season debuts helped their slotting. For the new list, I’m going to try and not be influenced by small, late-season sample sizes. Conversely, it also won’t be a listing of nothing but recent high draft picks.

He was a player I did like very much from that draft class. I think he was 9th on my list. At least around there,
