I'd like a better argument than that - what is he lacking as a player in your opinion? Not being a homer at all, looking at every stat I can. I'd put him as first reserve on this list. And statistically it isn't even close with the 'honorable mention' forwards.

He’s a very good player who in the last 2seasons has had many goals/assists, although his defense can be spotty. What I don’t like about him is between his ears. He’s a head case. Takes too many stupid penalties and can’t control his emotions. That’s not what I want from my Captain. He’s not a steadying voice in the room from what I’ve seen.

Werenski is debatable and Prov and San have the potential to be better than Ghost in the future but they are not currently better than Ghost in my opinion.

Kunitz wasn’t a cheap shot artist.
Kunitz was a better goal scorer.
Kunitz was better at finding the soft pockets in the ice to shoot from.
Kunitz passing is better than Wilson’s

Until I see Wilson put up 60-65 points a season, the only similarity is that he’s “physical.”

I never said Wilson was better than Kunitz just that they play a similar game. Lots of players in the league play very similar games/styles to each other yet some produce more than others. Give Wilson Sid for a full season and maybe Wilson's numbers rise because he plays a very similar style to Kunitz.

He's received Selke votes in 5 seasons and is top 5 in faceoffs last 3 years - he's actually very sound defensively. I don't understand the head case argument, and he doesn't take many penalties.

But I think your perception is fair. When your team is defined my inconsistency, the first finger is pointed at the captain - whether that's fair or not who knows. But there are Flyers fans who agree with that notion. He's an easy scapegoat.

Both fast and heavy forecheckers that lay lots of hits that create space for the linemates. Both like to go to front of net and create havoc.

Wilson is bigger and meaner, Kuny is (was) a better shooter and passer.

I don’t think it’s that far fetched. I just think he has to adjust the teams he is trading with. In no way is Ottawa taking on that much salary for a 2nd round pick. The kings trade with JJ/Rust won’t really work with LA going through a little rebuild. Then Simon and a 1st for Gusev and a 2nd? Switch Simon with ZAR and maybe. Simon is a capable NHL player with a good contract. That’s a very high risk move.

- Gudbransson and our 2021 2nd round pick to a team for their 6th round pick.

- Rust/JJ to the wild for Rask and a 3rd (if you really want a cap dump)

- ZAR/1st for Gusev/2nd.
