How can the same people get triggered by the same posters, saying the same things, day after day, week after week, year after year?
Wise up, jeez.
Save some of that limitless outrage and indignation for real world injustices pls. - Tomahawk
Did you hear about the KHL denying basic human rights by not allowing their refs to use social media!?!? If they can't tweet what they had for lunch every day, how are they supposed to live!?!? |

Billy Smith deserved it. Doesn't matter exactly what "it" was, he deserved it. |

Eklund’s assessment of what he thinks the Flyers are trying to do seems actually logical. |

Look at it all in a different way. The Pens made the playoffs by 3 points last season. Do you all Think losing Kessel, Matta and only gaining Galchenyuk and Tanev, while not fixing their D or Goaltending is gonna help them make the playoffs while every other team in the Metro other than Columbus has improved?
I think the Pens lose 10 points this coming season and get 90 total...and they're on the outside looking in come playoff time. Especially if they lose any one of Crosby, Malkin or Letang for an extended period of time...which is entirely possible - Hckygoalie31
Other teams improved but not enough.
Carolina is unknown. No one really knows if they can repeat what they had last season. They got strong goaltending from backup goalies. I like their team but I wouldnt be surprised if they took a step back.
Isles are another team I wouldnt be surprised taking a step back as well.
Rangers got better but I dont see them as a playoff team.
Columbus will still be competitive but I dont see them as a playoff team
New Jersey improved but is Hughes good enough to step in immediately and make a difference? This guy is not Crosby or McDavid. Subban can be an improvement however he was voted one of the most over-rated players by his peers.
Washington is likely the top team in the Metro again.
Pittsburgh will still be a good team but they took a step back |

There are question marks about most teams in the Metro, including the Flyers.

Well, if they ever decide to put the goals 20 feet in the air and move around, he may have to retire. |

I think it will be:
Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
Provorov-Niskanen
Hart
I'd prefer Provorov-Myers, but I don't even know if he's making the team right now. |

They weren't goaltending dependent last season.
They won games by controlling even strength play (tops in puck-possession, chances, expected goals, etc). That's a very repeatable thing, since their team is purpose-built to play that way.
As long as they continue to get league-avg goaltending (which is basically what they got last season), they'll be in the mix.
Isles are another team I wouldnt be surprised taking a step back as well. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Yeah, they're in for some nasty regression based on variable goaltending.
Barzal is awesome, but there are simply too many overpaid stiffs on that team for him to carry.
New Jersey improved but is Hughes good enough to step in immediately and make a difference? This guy is not Crosby or McDavid. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Hughes doesn't have to be, tho. Taylor Hall is the focal point of that offense. |

I don't think Rubstov makes it with the injury last year. Aside from one of Frost/Farabee, I think NAK has the best shot. |

I’m gonna get attacked for this but I think they are going to roll 3 balanced lines with V on Patty’s line for veteran presence.
G-Coots-TK (it worked last year) it has veteran presence, set up guy, finisher and a good 200 foot player.
JVR-Hayes-Frost veteran presence with setup guy and goal scorer
Lindy-Patty-V setup guy and goal scorer with V giving veteran presence.
Raffle-Laughts-Pitlick solid checking line
The top line gets top minutes and the next two lines get about even split on minutes based on match ups.
I think they want the Right side to balance. But if they don’t move someone then Myers goes down. They won’t give someone away. I know they plan on Myers so I going with that they move Hägg. For the record I don’t like moving Hägg but I think he goes as he doesn’t fit and has least upside. Ugh
Provy-Niskanen good minute eating line
Sandy-Braun Braun handles the d zone chip ins and keeps an eye out in the back end and Sandy jumps in a bit more on the rush. Braun keeps it physical and Sandy uses his long reach to be hard to play against.
Ghost-Myers Sheltered some. Given more O zone face offs.
Morin as the 7D as he gets time in subbing some.
My guess

I think the only team without major questions in the metro are the Caps. They have a clear path to winning the division (again) |

I think it's very possible they split up the talent in something like that. Can always load up a iine for double shifts when needed.

I like that lineup a lot more , on paper, then I did what we had going into last year.
I also dont think we can undervalue the gains that should be expected in having a coach like AV there.. If this team still under performs with him then the whole core just needs to go.
