Ovechkin signed his contract 11 years ago, when 9.5 million was 21.59% of the cap. No ones contract in the league at the moment even comes close. - RickJames77

Mcdavid and Matthews both took less than they deserved...It is pretty sweet.

While playing a Cap expert on HB i noticed CF does the work for you and puts the cap % in the contract details

SIGNING DATE: January 10, 2008 - 16.82%
but ya, Matthews is 14.63% - senstroll
I'm going to be sad when the CapFriendly guy gets picked up by an NHL team and we have to wait for the next CapGeek/CapFriendly to show up |

Is it wrong that I don’t hate those combos? - Atomic Wedgie
What happened to the PP last year? I remember in October and early November it was absolutely on fire. I definitely watched more Leafs games in the first half of the season so didn't really see what happened. |

Very well could be Marner.
If that is the case he will be gone in a few years. |

Became to predictable and they didn’t make any changes....like at all
Marner to Rielly
Rielly to marner
Marner back to Rielly
Marner fake shot and back to Rielly
Rielly fake shot then pass to Matthews
No shooting lane so pass back to Rielly
Rielly to marner
Marner fake slap shot and goes for the tip.
Pretty much the gist of it |

you failed to mention that you can't win a cup with Kessel, so therefor you cant win one with Nylander - senstroll
Kessel has won 2 cups....
And if you're referring to Kessel when he was a Leaf...
NONE would have helped bring a cup.
For the first time in many years, I have hope of maybe seeing the cup before my time is up!
Is Willy the answer? Not by himself
But the pieces are starting to line up nicely
But, like I said, Willy will certainly earn his pay cheque |

Kadri forgot how to shoot. Marner and Rielly never shot and Matthews was swarmed every 3 seconds because he has no one timer. |

I don't like the way Cap Friendly calculates cap percentage. It bases it on the current year's salary cap even though that salary will not be paid out until the new cap is established. The negotiations, I would expect, are very much based off of cap projections and cap percentages.
If you sign after June xx when the new cap number is released, then the cap number is based on the adjusted cap value. So it's not always comparing apples to apples. |

It got pretty stale...It ran through Marner but his shot is below average so other teams covered his limited passing options well
The Leafs will benefit pretty greatly from Barrie's one timer. It adds another weapon. |

Left out ...."and signed for 2 LESS years".
Very important. - The Law
Someone pointed that out already and I gladly agreed with them...but then again is really signed for 2 years less? My math says 1. |

Very little player movement.
Marner doesn't shoot. Rielly doesn't shoot. Kadri was ignored.
Block the lanes to Matthews and Tavares.

And I think the CBA limits % to 20%, no?
Ove is the highest cap % contract (post 2005) but factor in that it covers 13 years.
My only beef with CF is that they use "% of cap on date of signing" rather than "% of cap at time deal kicks in". So when guys sign early (IMHO) they use the wrong cap number. |

hmm yeah..so his is strange.
are you sure on that?
CF says SIGNING DATE: January 10, 2008 .. so the cap % on sportrac is probably more accurate as to when the contract was signed
wouldnt CF be higher if they used the current year and not when it started and the new established cap? |
