I'd be fine with that.

Domi was the team's sparkplug all year long. Scored plenty of clutch goals too.

It's been very understated how great of a trade that was by Bergevin.

It's way easier to poop a guy's head than to praise him for positive accomplishments.

Yeah, he was definitely the best player on the team all year long.

true

But for some reason people never hesitate to play the blame game, and forget about the better moves

i think it's both. i'll never hesitate to praise him for his good moves like the Domi/Tatar trades. but i'm also really disappointed with this offseason.

I understand the disappointment.

But at least I didn't see him do glaring mistakes like he did 2 years ago.

Last year was a GREAT offseason. This one is very "meh" as I feel we pretty much remained the same.

I don't hate the idea of leaving room for our young players though.

Same here. I keep thinking though (and hoping) that he's not done yet, and it's just a matter a time before he adds something interesting to the team.

Plenty of time before season starts.

Rangers need to shed some salary to make room for Trouba and they don't feel they can resign Kreider at the end of the year.

I think he'd be a good fit in Montreal. Would be an improvement over Shaw.

there's still potential i guess. Tart trade didn't happen till a day or two before camp opened. but i would say that as it stands today, they are a long shot to make the playoffs.

The Shaw trade is one of the reasons why people are disappointed this year, since most automatically saw this as a cap space move for another trade coming up. But like you said, lots of time before the 1st puck drop.

It was a cap space move.

But it was also a sell high move.

A thing GMs get blamed for not doing enough of.

Besides, Shaw's health represented a risk in itself

He's one hit away from being worth nothing.

Now we got a 2nd and a third.

It was a great move (that sorta corrected a mistake but whatever).

well i'll agree to disagree on that one. but the point remains, that is a significant chunk of offence on a team that really struggled to score goals down the stretch which has not been replaced.

Chicago isn't the powerhouse it used to be as well, that 2nd might be a pretty good pick.

I'll agree to that. His contribution has yet to be replaced. His absence will hurt the team next season.

Unless a young player steps up or another move comes.

I felt the need for a change.

I'm sorry for the negative impact such a dramatic change has caused you all.
