Trust me, I know that the trade is completley unrealistic since Larkin's contract is a steal. It's the only piece going back that would be any bit of sense if a trade were to happen for Point with the Red Wings. Just trying to emulate Ek when it comes to speculation and rumors - jvar17
Maybe Mantha and a first plus other picks/prospects. We need more beef as Washington and Columbus handed us our ass in the playoffs in the last 2 years. High speed small guys are great during the regular season, different story in the playoffs. |

If Point rejected an offer sheet from Montreal, why would they then trade for someone who doesn't want to play for them? |

Montreal was probably low-balling him like they did Aho.
Difference was Aho was more interested in term and getting it done quickly. Point probably wants more cash. |

I just received a text from a high ranking league executive that Eklund has signed an offer sheet today with the Ottawa Senators. Hockey buzz has 7 days to match. More to come... - gergeswillems

Artem Anisimov for Zack Smith
I like it. Smith was a good guy and well liked from Sens fans - AlfieisKing
Im just happy Ottawa changed focus from Point and settled for Anisimov. |

The whole "Point loves Tampa" yea let's see what he would do if he gets offered 12/!3 by another team.

What team is that someone who is going to offer Point that?
Local beat writers here in Tampa and the GM himself have stated multiple times the Bolts are in constant communication with Points agent.
When the first RFA blinks and take a deal it will be like dominos.
I come on this board to laugh at Ek's rumors because they are always a joke and give me a few chuckles. That is what this site is good for. |

Miller was our only easy way to clear cap space, to many nmc/ntc's. Thanks for the first though! |

Miller is so all over the place effort-wise...egh... he has potential, hopefully he feels motivated enough to come to play every night for you guys. When he's on, he's pretty darned good. When he's on. |

There's no way Tampa allows themselves to lose this kid. I don't see it. Unless there's a situation similar to Jonathan Drouin in 2016....I doubt it.
Any GM trading for Point would have to pony up their left arm and leg, sell their farm and pay a literal kings ransom. A second round kitchen sink may be the kicker.
As far as an offer sheet? I'm still not buying it. |

Considering literally the only place this rumour is circulating is this specific thread, it sounds a heck of a lot like a site-owner trying to drive traffic in the dog days of summer. |

Maybe Ek's source who told him this rumour trusts Ek and doesn't want to spread it around to Friedman and Dreger and MacKenzie? Have you considered that? Just because Chicago and Ottawa made a trade with each other rather than start the RFA war for Rantanen doesn't mean the war isn't coming. This will be a long summer. |

And maybe the Oilers will trade McDavid for Point straight up.
Just a rumour I heard. I can't give you the source, tho... |

It's going to be a three-way trade - with a sign-and-trade for Point.
Right after Brian Burke gets Marek Svatos for the Leafs. - Atomic Wedgie

Larkin > Point (Who’s value has been inflated by superstars)
Sooooooo it ain’t happenin’. - As_I_See_It
Larkin better than point? Point 41 goals 90 points, Johnson on same line had Johnson typical points. Point is a 23 old 1st line center. Stfu. |

Also, point is a first line center on one of the best teams in the NHL, Larkin is a center on one of the worst teams in the NHL. I do like Larkin as a player, Point is better. |

We should make a trade for this kid he would be our number 2 center in a heartbeat!!!
LETS GO RANGERS!!!! - patersonnick46
Rangers can have Keyport, NJ... |
