He has an even higher cap hit for the same term. You're right, there's probably a trade to be had there and Ottawa might even have to add but I'm not so sure that helps any.
- golfingsince

Oh, I don’t want Ryan now. I’m just saying that if Ottawa was interested in bringing Lui in (low $ high cap hit) they would certainly want to get rid of Ryan.

Right now I think 2 2nd round picks, maybe a 2nd and a 3rd. I know Vancouver isn't Toronto desperate but that's 3 years.
- golfingsince

Exactly, no team is desperately trying to get to the floor for the next 3 years. I have a feeling it will be a jv and a low pick or something of the ilk. Otherwise, we just demote his ass, which I hope. Nhl needs a clause where if the players don't live up to their contract we can call it void. (frank) these lazy ass (frank)s signing that fat dollar term just to check out wussy style in Mexico.

If LE's contract ends up getting ripped up (I could never see that happening btw) I know he can't sign with another NHL team but is there any cap/recapture penalties?
- canuckfan069

Like if he retired and we tore it up, don't think so. But for the player that would never happen.

Saw an article by someone, can't find it, can't remember who wrote it.

It was saying that they except 6 different rookies to score 50 plus points this season. It has happened once in the past little while. Normally only about 3 or 4 score 50 plus points. Quite a few sitting in the 40's if they don't.

Kakko?
Hughes?
Our Hughes?
Glass?

Who else.

Svechnikov, Kotkaniemi, Tkachuk didn't break 50 last season.

I'm super excited to see how much leash our Hughes has. He looked great last year and with a full season of hopefully pp1 time, he can be above 40 pts. Which would be unreal for a rookie d man.

Many 4th lines are different too many teams. Travis Green's 4th line is generally defensive only, start in their own zone only, attempt to not be a minus every game.

Motte's 16 points are cheaper and younger, faster, more physical. Different attributes that's LE don't have.

- manvanfan

It's a different looking team, they need to be coached differently. Last season it was a few young guys and a couple of solid D and then hold on defensively. They're much better positioned to push the play with Myers and QH on the back end as well as with Ferland and Miller up front. They should spend more time in the opposing end and LE still has a shooting % of 10, despite it having dropped since coming to Vancouver.

Only last year did he have bad possession numbers relative to the team.

By all means, trade him if there's value of any kind. I don't see there being any until his contract ages or he plays his way out of it. The cap return is negligible.

He is going to have to out play everybody that is younger, cheaper and more value down the road to lose someone on waivers though. Motte and Goldy aren't typical waiver players and would most definitely be picked up.

We can't keep LE on the team because he'll poison the youth!

Let's send him to the farm team most of our prospects play on to make him even angrier.

That does kind of sound like a Benning move.

Was just at the bank. TV monitors above the tellers were showing 'News Headlines'. One of the headlines was that Michael Carcone had signed a 2 year deal with the Ottawa Senators.

If he's going to Dallas. See if we can get Janmark to come back.

Someone needs to rival Beagle for fitness this season. I think he could do it.

Apperently he was angry about being sent down. Heard it last week on the radio. Probably why he played in Toronto

Don't suck then. Entitled Edmonton Oiler draft pick. That's a strong no to JP for the same reason.

I think you have prospects that will join the bottom 6 in a year or two, as well as top 4D. My next backup goalie is probably going to play there as well. I just don't see that as sound reasoning for sending him down.

JB is running an organization, whereas TG is only coaching a team and needs to be reminded of it. TG is going to have to reach out to Loui at some point.

It’s no big deal. Not getting on 100% doesn’t mean they get on 1%. Maybe they get on 99%, that's pretty good. It will all be water under the bridge by the second week of October.

Plus the team now has assembled a bunch of shooters through out the line up as options for Hughes to set up.

LA was hit with 10M or so over 17 years I think for the Richards termination.

With their newfound friendship Green will coach LE to a scoring title.
