Thanks Carol. Appreciate the run down.
LE's not a struggling player that needs better quality ice time to "show case" him to improve value. LE has demonstrated being checked out ever since the Sedin promise never panned out. He doesn't want to be here.
Now that he's got his big pay there is little left. Only option is getting him off the team. Change of scenery or disgruntled is the story to the value. - NuckUp

He looks pretty relaxed. It's the people spinning out of control that need to relax.
You would see the bulk of an ice pack on his shoulder. He's out on a boat sitting in the sun. Why the ice pack again? He hurt his shoulder drinking the beer he has covered?
- boonerbuck
Haha yeah, agree the spinsters need to relax for sure. Our fan base is notorious for the extremes. Could've tweaked something wakeboarding and had some ice on it and didn't want to mention it. |

I just can't believe it's a lock that there's no place for him on the roster.
What are we going to do? Double down on a bad decision by making another one just to move him at all costs? |

I disagree. Imo he can’t play for the team ever again. He is a horrible example for the young players. Last to the rink and first off it. Dogs it in practice. All of this despite him being the highest paid player on the team. The only solution is Utica imo. At least we don’t have any prospects down their to worry about |

Like someone said before he probably had a beer under it. He's not the guy that sensationalized the photo.
It would be awesome if he did it just to win a bet that he could make Vancouver freak out with that nothing photo. - golfingsince
I think that would be awesome also, the minute it was posted there were OMG he's in a cast, I can see the square outlines under the blanket,

I said the same thing about Gagner last season, where does he fit. Even though he was the teams 6th leading scoring forward.
Looking at the current roster.
Miller PEttersson Boeser
Pearson Horvat Ferland
Baertschi Sutter Virtanen
Leivo Beagle Motte
Eriksson hasn't shown in the past couple years to be a better scoring option than Ferland, Pearson or Miller.
Roussel is probably a better option than him also when he returns.
Having Leivo on the 4th line doesn't make much sense either.

I think the coach, GM, player and agent all need to sit in a room. We're not going to eat salary, we aren't going to give up a pile of assets to move you. Coach, you're stuck with him too for the time being. You guys both need to make it work or he has no chance of leaving here. Now name your 10 teams. |

As long as the cost isn't adding assets in a trade then the value is addition by subtraction. The cost to the team of having his sourness around is negative value. |

An NHL player that scored 30 points last season. Or Gaunce again. Pick your poison. |

He probably fits best with Sutter than anyone else at this point.
I don't know why Motte's 16 points are anything special, nor his 30 in 153 career games. I get that he's younger, but his advanced stats aren't anything special. Leivo's a solid player.
I think sometimes people have pre-conceived notions of what a 4th line is. Aside from C which needs / should show defensive acumen and an ability to win faceoffs, it's really just your best players that don't fit in the top 9. The whole idea is to not get killed while they're out there.

Thanks Carol.
If Ottawa was entertaining taking on Lui they would certainly want to move off Ryan, who has A LOT of real dollars still to pay out. |

He has an even higher cap hit for the same term. You're right, there's probably a trade to be had there and Ottawa might even have to add but I'm not so sure that helps any. |

Many 4th lines are different too many teams. Travis Green's 4th line is generally defensive only, start in their own zone only, attempt to not be a minus every game.
Motte's 16 points are cheaper and younger, faster, more physical. Different attributes that's LE don't have. |

Right now I think 2 2nd round picks, maybe a 2nd and a 3rd. I know Vancouver isn't Toronto desperate but that's 3 years. |

If LE's contract ends up getting ripped up (I could never see that happening btw) I know he can't sign with another NHL team but is there any cap/recapture penalties? |
