His boss was mandated & fired cya TL. It was erroneously posted here it was JB’s mandate. Once TL was out of the way we saw marked improvement.

It’s a good point, that does seem to be when things started to look better

Yes but JB has more to do still. This year looks like a turning the corner opportunity he needs to work.

Just more of Stanley correcting his mistakes. Lots yet to do & not getting easier. His cap management has been his own doing & yet still has a job.

Except Mackinnon is a 1oa that you’re omitting. Agree that outside of that theyve had similar to work with. Been very impressed woth Sakic this summer. Really seems like he’s figured some things out. It’s almost as if it requires experience to get better at things...

MacKinnon was drafted in 2013...

That’s nice, you starting your comparison a year later just seems like an obvious omission. So i mentioned that.

He's comparing Benning, Benning wasn't here in 2013.

Pretty sure that's not correct. It started with Buffalo, I said that's not a great comparison. Also, Benning and Sakic is comparison, guess who Joe's first pick as GM was? Avs have done a rebuild. Canucks has done a rebuild. Pretending like it didn't start with Horvat/mackinnon in 2013 is just bullpoop. Obviously purposely omitted it because it's the major difference. I'm happy with the nucks, but weve had the worst lotto luck of any rebuilding team. That's what makes it hard to compare. no 1 or2 oa picks in 5 pretty good chances. Still managed to get great picks at 5/6/9

So the Ottawa Chicago trade means that the Sens have reached the capfloor.

? has this nixed the Eriksson to Ottawa trade rumors?

I miss the days of Loui buyout talk.

The Sens having to reach the cap floor was a bizarre myth. This trade has zero impact on any interest the Sens may have had in Loui. They were a million below the floor and simply could have signed a UFA to a one year deal. The Sens never had any desire to take on Loui for $6MM over 3 years

From a TSN article on the trade;

The move for Anisimov inches the Senators closer to the NHL's salary cap floor.

Can show how long a rebuild can take & some ppl here preach patience but don’t exercise it. Not saying that’s you. So they go on & on about JB & harp or grasp onto whatever they can. They prefer that than what is currently going on.

Sens were going to reach the floor anyways. They put their cap to good use.

What Loui to the Sens rumours?

Cap floor is $60.2m they are at $60.9m. You need senseless articles to know this?

Buffalo and Vancouver are probably better comparable’s, six drafts ago they both had few prospects and both teams finished poorly.

2014 draft - Canucks pick 6th Buffalo 2nd
2015 draft - Canucks pick 23rd Buffalo 2nd
2016 draft - Canucks pick 5th Buffalo 8th
2017 draft - Canucks pick 5th Buffalo 8th
2018 draft - Canucks pick 7th Buffalo 1st
2019 draft - Canucks pick 10th Buffalo 7th

Vancouver had 35 wins this year Buffalo 33, both have some great young players, be interesting to see how each team progresses from here.

why do we need to see how the season goes? in the last three drafts where they have been rebuilding they have had, in addition to aquiring prospects (largely from 2016 draft for some reason)

6 first round picks
3 second rounds
3 third round picks

is that not good?

- johnnykarate

That would depend on how those picks turn out. No certainly in prospects.
