I agree, Loui's progress was nice to see last year.

I think we all can relate with prioritizing 10 cent and 5 cent candies with $2.00 from 711 back in the day

Cap is essentially the same right?

Slurpee. No money left for Candies.

I care where it comes from. Roussel and Motte, I like both players, imo made no major impact to the growth of the team from 6th to 9th last.

But Leivo and Stecher did, both JB acquisitions...

Progress is progress. I don't care where it comes from . The Roussel signing and the Motte trade made the season much more fun to watch just because of the hustle.

That has nothing to do with the drafting.

Someone tell Eklund he needs to put some more emoji's up. Music note, poop emoji. What else?

The Leivo trade wasn’t terrible, I don’t mind him at all, middling player at best. Stecher picked Vancouver, sorry but Benning gets no credit for that.

He’s still an NHL player, at least for now. They won’t demote him out of spite. Jim is too level headed for that.
- 1970vintage

It wouldn't be out of spite. If they feel he is a poison to the locker room, they will demote him to keep him away.

So he walked up to the Canucks and said "Hey Fukers find me a spot , I am playing for your team like it or not?"

MTL has tried to offer sheet 3 players now and has been turned down by 2 of them. Guessing because they were too low.

I’m sure it was his agent who said that lol, but yes, that’s how free agency works. He was free to sign anywhere he wanted to, he wanted to play in Vancouver, are you new here?

Where have you seen these? Do they only get reported when they are signed?

So anyone who wants to play in Vancouver can walk into the dressing room and play . Cool . I am looking up agents in the yellow pages as we speak

Just rumours but talking with my friend saying that she overheard Chevy the other day saying MTL has tried a couple of times to offer sheet players and he's a bit worried about Laine getting one and signing it.

So much effort is being put into trying to justify Benning hate lately.
It's taken him longer than most expected, him Included I imagine, but he's finally assembled a competitive team.

Don’t play so dumb, Jordie Benn just turned down Montreal’s identical offer because he wanted to play in Vancouver. Stecher was a sought after college free agent who could’ve signed anywhere, he expressed interest in the Canucks and they obviously wanted him but at the end of the day it was Stechers decision

I do wonder about what was actually mandated by FA. If Benning said oh I can do this in this time and it didn't happen. Why wouldn't he have been fired by now?

Looking at the current RFA's, he's probably coming off the worst season of all of them and has probably a few more holes in his game. I'm sure he's the last to get looked at.

I'm sure FA said I want a quick turnaround and Benning got the job because he said he could deliver.
He clearly tried to but as many have pointed out, wasn't successful.

I think Boeser and then Pettersson likely saved his job but who knows.

I’m sorry your pom poms don’t fit me. I’ve given both praise and criticism of Benning and it rubs some the wrong way because I’m not a blind loyalist.

I can see what you are getting at but.......

A president with no experience hires a GM with no experience who hires a coach with no experience for an old aging team full of NTC/NMC and no prospect pool. Oh and the owner runs the club.

I think their progress is pretty well where it should be for all the warts they had.
