As for Marner, my view from afar is that it’s probably close to or at the point where TOR hopes an offer sheet is tendered. That would allow/force closure, one way or the other. Match the offer sheet or take the compensation, but it would be done.

Yeah, I think that is probably true.

I hate the Matthews contract already. If they sign Marner to the same thing, it pretty much guarantees one of them walks after 5 years. The Leafs won't be able to re-sign both.

If they traded Ceci, I would not mind 11.5 but 8 years.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Just once I want to see one of these guys get screwed over by greed.
