The Blackhawks have 16 back-to-back games this season so that right there is 16 games to Lehner. I would give him 25% of the remaining 66 games:
Lehner 32 games
Crow 50 games
This only assumes though that Crow is healthy all season which is a huge assumption. - BlackhawkMike
I don't think a healthy Crow starts that many more games than a healthy Lehner. |

I think as long as the QO is sent out or received by a certain date the team reserves the player's rights. Now if the team is late with the QO the player(s) do become UFAs as we saw happen in 2009 when with Byfuglien and I think Versteeg and maybe Bickell? - paulr
I think it included Crawford, Versteeg, Barker, Eager, Fraser, Johnson and Brouwer. |

I would definitely reverse those numbers.....
Crow is 35 coming off of concussion problems, Lehner is 27 coming off of a Vezina finalist season....
I see at the most Crow and Lehner rotating, but more realistically I see Lehner getting the majority of starts.....
IMO, the Hawks signed Lehner for a couple of reasons, they signed him because they're giving him an opportunity to be Crows long-term replacement and they also signed him as a legitimate goalie to take much of the workload off of Corey's back and not have to worry about depending on a Delia if something goes terribly wrong again....
Sorry but I think this is Corey's last season, 50/50 (no pun intended) he retires at the end of this season, his contract is up and the last couple of seasons have been rough on his health.... No doubt if Corey wants to come back next season I'm sure the Hawks will get him signed to maybe a 1-2 million 1 year deal to backup Lehner but this is the end of the road as far as Corey being a 50+ game starter..... Could I be wrong? sure, but given Corey's age and the concussions he's had it's highly unlikely he will ever be a consistent starter again.... But like I said, Corey is an excellent goalie and he could prove all of us wrong, he could beat out Lehner in the rotation and end up starting the majority of games but that is a long shot at best..
I'm sure if Lehner takes the majority of the workload, has an excellent season I could see Bowman giving him a 7-year deal next summer, Crow retires and Delia becomes Lehner's backup...
I know we all love Corey but he doesn't have much left - not because he's regressing - it's because of his health issues and eventually he will regress over the next year or 2.... And I wouldn't be shocked if Crow does take a step back this season...
I mean I wish Crow could play until he's 41 but I cant see that happening... And I don't think Lehner signed with the Hawks to play backup... - Savard2Secord
Exactly - sad but true the love affair with Crow is over. Everything you said is correct especially Lehner not signing to be a backup. That is not going to get him a better deal. |

There's a misconception out there that not signing a QO makes a player a UFA. That's not true. Perlin, having not signed his QO, is still a RFA and the Hawks still have his rights. - boilermaker100
Yes otherwise what good would a QO be? |

He’s a first pairing guy today and will allow you guys to move on from that plug Slavin.
Stan’s next move, Slavin and a 2nd for Seabs and AA. |

No, imo. You will get a lot of yeses. He actually made a steady pair with Rutta until Rutta got hurt & that line was no longer steady. Forsling isn't always smart with the puck, force a pass under pressure. He will shoot, good moving with time, can clear the puck, take hits to make plays. I just think he wasn't always consistent & didn't reach full potential. He tends to go unnoticed, which isn't bad for a dman. I wish him the best because I always liked him. |

So, yes. Okay.
He probably won't see the ice in Raleigh anyway. |

In all seriousness, he shows flashes of greatness intermingled with his usual meh-ness.
He’s still youngish though. Maybe he figures it out. |

He was ok here. But now that he’s on Carolina it’s only a matter of hour until your back here stating he will be a perennial all-star and sure fire H.O.F. |

Not really. He is "meh". Ok as a 5-6. Unless he improves a lot, not a real "difference maker"....but as a 5-6, he is better than some.... |

Can't quote the source, but I read somewhere that playing 10 games, reg season and/or playoffs burns a year off an ELC. - boilermaker100
Playing even one game will burn a year off the ELC. The 10 game limit is for players who still have Jr. eligibility and can’t be sent to the AHL yet. |

Hey Numbers - do you recall how long the Chicago Stadium ice was?
I'm remembering 180 feet - I know it was shorter than in any other NHL building, but am I remembering correctly?

Based on normal scheduling they would need to go at least 6 in each series through the WCF. They are better - but not that good. - riozzo
That's if Denver goes all the way. I'm not too familiar with College Hockey so idk the likelihood of this happening. I'm just saying based on the path that the Hawks have used with college players in the past I'd expect for him to get signed in the Spring and possibly make his debut with them and potentially burn his first year of his ELC. Either way, I'd be surprised if he didn't end up signing with the Hawks after this year is over with. |

He's better than any of the d-men on Chicago's roster. Stan failed yet again. |
