Sure there was, but back in the day the benches were not seperated by much like they are now for knuckleheads like Piere McGuire. So the doors weren't as far away. - 6628
Three good answers as to why the "long change" wasn't more noticeable back in the day. |

I’ve searched all over the inter webs for a video of the time Steve Smith tried to demolish the glass separating the two boxes to get at the guy on the other side. It was the most livid I’ve ever seen a player on the ice.
Anyone else remember that, or better yet have a link to a clip? I can’t even remember who he was trying to get at or why he was so incensed. - Ogilthorpe2
Sharks, andrei Nazarov
Found old trib article, no video tho |

No reason they would want to do that.
And honestly i am.so excited with all these kids landing jobs here, so i do not really want too many players coming back in trades. Ratherr accept draft choice(s). |

Apparently they did want to do that, because it just happened. |

Wow I'm surprised they were able to get that deal done. Makes sense for both sides. Hawks get some cap relief to fill out the roster and a solid bottom six forward. Ottawa gets a solid guy who can slot in as a 2C or 3C and flip at some point.

per usual a bit strange...not salary dump cap trade...an not for picks
both with two years left and the same age..
i have no idea about smiths game: special teams? Faceoffs?

Here's the rationale behind the Anisimov-Smith trade, from what I figure:
- they're both 31
- Smith saves $1.3 million in cap space, allowing them to re-sign Perlini easily
- Smith is better on faceoffs. Over past 4 years, he's won 50.2%, Anisimov 45.1% |

It makes no sense. The Hawks just got weaker. |
