I'll take it.

It's slightly better than a prove it deal, but also is a safety net on the left side.

As long as his back is okay, which is probably a 50/50 chance at this rate.

He's not getting a long term deal, that much is certain. Nice to see teams smartening up about guys with injury histories. 2-3 years at 6M is a great deal.

Re-signing the rest of the RFAs and trading Scandella and signing Gardiner to 6, leaves us about 2M over cap. Even if you're putting Bogo on LTIR, it won't last long. You manage to dump Slobotkiss, gives you 1.5M in space. Not sure how the team feels about Hunwick, but that's another 2+ in space. Lets you trade Risto and bring more salary back if necessary.

NHL GMs seem to be wising up that the UFA market is a pile of beans more often than not.

Hopefully this increases the offer sheets, or causes a change to the CBA in terms of when players can become available. 26-28 year olds in the NHL are the equivalent to 35-40 year old people. More often than not, players start breaking down and having more issues than when they first enter the league.

Some of his posts are so wrong it’s an attempt for attention. Rich kid syndrome, dad works to much so he’s stuck alone in his paid for beach condo in LA.

Do you have any idea how many nice titties are in LA. Jcrag needs a vacation out there,

Why do we insist on making these trades where we give up more than we're receiving?

Kassian is a plug. Pulu (sort of) rhymes with poopoo. How long before that guy is back in Europe? What is the fascinaton with this guy? He's awful.

you keep adding to the original proposal here. Sheary is better the PoolParty now, Girgs and Kickassian are washes (maybe Zach has a little more value because tuff guy) so you get down to Risto, a not great conditional 2nd, and Pekar for RNH.

Risto and Sheary(retained) for RNH. Maybe but EDM may not move on that.

Girgensons, Pekar, pick for Puju and Kassian.

I don’t even know if EDM says yes to that.

I feel like that package coming back from EDM is severely underwhelming.

Seems like his agent overestimated his value. Was likely looking for huge term, no one bit. Now it's about choosing a destination and a 2-3 year term. That term is likely directly related to his recent back problems.

RNH doesn't strike me as a guy JB needs to overpay for. If EDM isn't interested in a simple swap, then (frank) it. They have enough middling and bottom forwards. If they need Pekar with Risto, whatever. There's really no need to pay any more.

I'm not quite sure why trading Scandella to this team in the West should be contingent upon signing Gardiner. If a team will take him and his salary, move him now!
