plus we get all of his prime years at a reasonable cap hit for a dude who can score 30 goals.
It wouldn't surprise me if Brock has a sharp decline at 5v5 once he hits 30+ and loses a step since he's already one of the slower skaters on the team. - Nucker101
If he’s still playing with a cerebral space creator like Pettersson, I don’t see him losing a step that early. His goal scoring will rely on “find space/pull trigger”, not foot speed (he should be able to age kinda like Brett Hull minus the alcoholism - or at least hide it with a draped towel).

lol. Can you imagine Christmas at the Hull house? I’m picturing something like Festivus.

Pretty much goes for many big goal scorers over the years. Speed hasn’t been a forte for many of them. Robitaille Andreychuk Kerr Benn etc
The options presented. Hope a budget cheap team finds value in LE's contract of only $9M left for a $18M cap hit. Plus change of scenery hopefuls on production. Maybe Sens, Canes or Preds do it.
If the trade doesn't happen by training camp then waiving LE will be the best option left given how things are headed.
Either way Canucks look cap crunched going forward. No more spending on named FA's and trades for big contract players.

Rather than trade Loui, I think JB's best strategy would be to strong arm him down in Utica and not be nice about it
Send him to Utica and healthy scratch him every night until he goes back to Sweden or his Agent arranges a trade that doesn't F the Canucks over - RoloTahmasee
This might be the plan. Force LE to cancel his own contract.
If you could retain salary and ship Lui to Nashville for Turris, and then move Sutter for pick/prospects this team would be strong down the middle! - 1970vintage
I wouldn’t retain a nickle to take on 2yrs extra of Turris.

Yeah ride the buses, and get healthy scratched every night after the warm up skate... Or not be so mean and send him to Robidas Island... Where he can reenact the movie castaway... He can play the part of the soccer ball, Wilson...
I wonder if they are pushing to move Loui? The plan very well could be let him rot for 3 years.
I thought Turris had 4 years left. I agree I wouldn't go after the 5 years - VANTEL
That's the downside with a trade like that the player coming back would be just as unpopular over the contract and that negativity might effect a new dressing room.
