An option that got missed is selling him to a team needing to make salary. This is attractive since while the cap hit is 6M his actual salary is 3M.
On this point who cares about return on LE, cap space is needed. A couple KISS records is ok, ET on VHS I don't care.
Buying him out causes a recapture, sending him to minors or loaning only saves 1.07m on the cap.
What wasn't mentioned was that LE is one of the best penalty killers in the Nhl. That HAS to be a valuable asset to nhl teams. |

Erickson and Bachman to Ottawa for Condon. retain 25% of the salary.
Ottawa gets 4.5 against the cap for 3 seasons and actually saves 2.5 million in salary this season and it will only cost them 3 a season for final 2 seasons...essentially the cheapskate Sens get 4.5 against the cap for 3 seasons for 3.5 million in total cost |

We have talked a lot about OTT taking him after the 15th, when his bonus is paid so they can get to the cap floor. Any move, if one is to be made, will happen after then I'm guessing. |

There is no team trying to get to the cap floor.
You don't need a 6 mil penalty killer.

Ottawa for Zach Smith. Smith is owed 6.5 over the next two years. A buyout would be 1.083 for the next 4 years. Keep a million for LE and Van saves 3 million over the next 3 seasons but cost them an extra 1 million in year 4 on Zach Smith. |

There is so much more that the team could get with that 6 mil. They could get PK guy for 1.5 mil and another decent player for 3.5 mil

It appears that the Canucks and Brock Boeser are still a sizable distance apart in contract discussions. Postmedia’s Patrick Johnston reports that Vancouver has tabled a six-year, $36MM offer to the winger while Boeser’s camp is looking for a shorter-term around $7MM per y |

Canucks have 5.05 in space . They also would need to send down two players when Brock signs seeing that makes a 25 man roster. Loui and Schaller clear up 2 mil in space and there you are.
See . No Cap issues. |

Agree with Vantel... Let Loui ride the buses, or have his agent make a trade not involving picks or prospects. |

plus we get all of his prime years at a reasonable cap hit for a dude who can score 30 goals.
It wouldn't surprise me if Brock has a sharp decline at 5v5 once he hits 30+ and loses a step since he's already one of the slower skaters on the team. |

Well Jim has an eye for talent ,so maybe when his decline is going to begin Benning can be ahead of the curve and trade him off.
Only problem would be Peteys broken heart. |
