Ya, reports are he wanted to start a rebuild in 2012 (summer) but Aquilini wouldn’t allow it. I suspect the team would have been in much better shape for Benning had he been able to start a rebuild. No defence for his horrid drafting though.

Kesler should have been gone for Assets the days after we were bounced from the first round of PO's in 2012. That's when he started all his back door trade request bullpoop and Gillis should have sent him packing. Giving Luongo the 'C' was one of the dumbest moves in hockey history. That guy couldn't lead fack all.

Gillis set the team back big time. The hole he left from his utterly horrendous drafting and ntc's handed out really hurt the club long term. There is a reason he isn't in the league now, it's not because he was an amazing gm either.

Call me crazy but I don’t think Aquilini would have allowed him to trade Kesler, he was in full meddling mode as an owner, all he cared about was more playoff revenue.

I am standing by my prediction of two months ago. Canucks will make two significant trades this summer and two UFA signings and get rid of some bad contracts.

I don't know why fans ( not meant for you) are so worked up about it. Boeser will be signed and Canucks will be Cap Compliant. It is not an option.
