So why can Roussel go on LTIR in the offseason & not count against the cap & not wait for day 1? - Nighthawk
He is counting against the cap right now. |

That’s nice. Now back to the scenario how Roussel can go on LTIR in the offseason. |

Most likely. Perhaps some room for bonuses. |

I figure about $10m is available to sign both & for bonuses. Less if Roussel returns & no other IR or LTIR relief gained. That’s unlikely. |

I guess posting it a few times here on blogs didn’t help. Lol |

Canucks could start the season with LE no problem at all. They can paper Gaudette and Hughes to Utica, place Roussel on LTIR and immediately paper the two back to the Canucks. Good until Nov/Dec when Roussel returns. If they need to waive Shaller... big deal. By that time LE will play himself down to Utica... where I think he should start regardless of all this pu$$y footin around.

Don’t need to paper anyone just put Roussel on LTIR as soon as cap space is needed. |

Once Brock is signed they will be over when the season starts if they dont paper/demote player/s. They don't start the season with Roussel on LTIR. They have to place him on LTIR. Even Dim Jim knows this.

Well PG tried to say without knowing how to say it is Roussel can go on LTIR at any time.
Pridham the TML AGM helped write the CBA when with the NHL. A player can go on LTIR in the offseason if a medical report states he will miss 10 games or 24 days or more before day 1. Even Bill Daly didn’t know the rule. |
