Teams with cap space are generally going to use that cap space and ask for something in return. Not really worth it to Van to give up assets right now with other options available. No one team needs to get to the cap floor. Actual dollars would only work if you took back a similar contract only to buy it out. Stuck with a longer term problem potentially.

Edmonton was interested in him and tried to trade for him but he vetoed the trade as 1 of 4 teams he would refuse. This is what I was told yesterday.

I think LE might have a bit of a bounce back year. The team is far deeper overall than if has been since any point he's been here. Obviously, you don't pass up a good deal but you don't take a bad one back just for the sake of change.

The best we got was LE Sutter Grandlund when WD still coached, and for whatever reason TG refused to try that again. His family moving to a "base of operations" makes sense , and probably makes it easier to find him a new home. Green has to show some class and make an attempt to make amends.

Give Loui a clean slate and see what happens, play him with Petey and Ferland for 5-10 games and if he produces, his trade value goes and might actually be worth keeping.

Worst case scenario, is he sucks and the team is back where they are.
