He's not going to not report...hes going to either be traded or force the Canucks to make a decision . Not going to just turn his back on 9 mil on a point of pride . - Bullfrog77

Well if pride was his motivation... he should have come back after his first season with his hair on fire ! We are three poop seasons deep now ...i think it's safe to say personal pride isn't his motivation. He's just collecting a pay cheque! And if that is his motivation , then I agree with the coach.... (frank) that guy he can ride the bus in Utica! - Bullfrog77
A player that is last on the ice and first off has no pride. |

A good blog by Michael Pachla on the Sabres, a lot of similarities between the Canucks and Sabres right now. Both have some nice pieces after a lot of down years. Just need t9 build around them now. Which Benning did a much better job of this summer. - Pacificgem
I see no similarities at all |

There have been a few GMs that had a bad year . Kevin Cheveldayoff Stan Bowman David Poille and others - VANTEL
But we still have Jimbo to pick on ad nauseum.
But yet the Benning whiners will remind us all how much better the GM'ing is in CLB lol

I think your response is if LE doesn't report. But Bullfrog was saying he's showing up to training camp and not walking away from $9M just on pride. Though you are right on scenario. Perhaps getting waived to Utica might be enough of a discomfort for him to walk away. |

I assume you mean 3rd overall? They may accept that.
Do people forget ONE year of Marleau cost a first round pick. Moving Loui will cost multiple useful assets. Not trash like Goldobin, mid round picks or B/C prospects. Virtanen and a first. Juolevi, Madden and a few 2nds...something like that - CanuckDon

I think that is the problem with Twitter, anyone can spout off and you have to read it. I browse the odd time when I'm bored or starved for Canucks news but that is about it. anything substantial usually gets posted in here and I'm good.

He got used outside the top 6 in Tampa, itâs possible he doesnât mesh with Bo or Petey. Do you want examples of other top 6 F / Top 4 D that didnât work out in Vancouver? - 1970vintage

Can find a use for LE but nothing for Lucic or Neal |

It's a pk unit, not a individual pker. Literally everything you posted from Bulis is horse poop imo. If the canucks have the highest rank PK in the league, and eriksson is on the first pk unit, than I'll give him credit as a good pker, along with the 2nd ok unit, as a whole, they would be good based on having the best percentage. LE literally has negative value, and any trade involving him will not get us a return that will be positive, it will be of equal poop and will mainly offset with salary or term. - Codes1087
To clarify, I donât think the Canucks are getting anything back for Loui. The benefit is unloading his salary/cap without adding a sweetener. If they do need to sweeten the deal it should be to retain salary/cap. If they get a 7th round pick, that would be a win.
PITB is historically anti Benning and anti LE so that analysis is not coming from a bias source. |

So play him. If it's a matter of pride he's probably going to report in good shape, and want to prove himself. Unless he plays himself off the roster than burying him accomplishes nothing with absolutely nothing to be gained.
Who knows, maybe he pots 20-25 goals. That would more than double what he's put up in any season as a Canuck thus far and make his contract more palatable both to the team and potential trade partners. - golfingsince
I agree I think they might have to play him to at least make him more tradeable. Not the ideal situation but might be tough this summer (unless they want to add a sweetener which is a bad idea IMHO) |

Or hes trying to create a narrative that LE has some value and is traceable and then is going to post some sarcastic ass article about how awful benning is and how he was unable to trade him. Bulis is that big of a twat |

We are not in a position that forces LE to be moved.
Marleau was useless & cap space was sorely needed.
Lucic severely screws the Oilers perpetual rebuild.
Neal is simply dead weight.
Backes can be hidden on a good team but worthless to trade.
Ryan is just playing out the string helping the Sens reach the floor. |
