I don't think you can sign him because the wants to play at Denver, and some how think that is not the way the agreement works....

Don't think Joki and Maatta are connected. The Hawks really soured on Joki for reasons. Which we may or may not agree with. The return for Joki kinda indicates to me they were looking to move on from Joki pretty quickly.

This.

Maatta is also a LHD.

I heard the Hawks wanted 2 veterans added to the blueline. They did exactly that and it became a necessarily crowded position.

The Hawks are a lot better today defensively on the backend however, I do worry a little bit who is going to move the puck effectively (and quicky) up to the forwards.

Jokiharju was really strong at moving the puck up the ice at every level. That will be missed.

Murphy is more of a glass and out guy.

Keith ans Gus are great but are on the same pairing.

Maatta and de Haan are apparently great at a first pass but neither are strong at skating it out of the zone (from what I've seen -LBR might tell me otherwise).

Seabs makes a nice first pass but doesn't skate it out much.

So while I remain optimistic, I am slightly worried about that.

An underlying issue I had with Stan moving Joki.

You'd think after three Cups these babies would be able to understand how bad their team currently is.

Consider that it's Tanner . So whatever that Fool says doesn't really matter to anyone here.

I forget if Seabrook-Gus was decent or disastrous defensively a couple years back. If they are decent, you could shelter them a bit 5v5, then put Keith with literally anyone else and maybe let him get back to his roving ways.

Tanner entertains all. Love reading the comments for his posts and just his reference in unrelated comments is a good chuckle.

I still think it was more the two camps not being on the same page. I wonder if the Blackhawks suggested the below to Jokiharju too, but he rejected the idea for his dad’s development plan:

Strome has remained in Chicago this offseason and has been participating in the Blackhawks’ strength and conditioning program and working on the ice with Prodigy Hockey’s Brian Keane. DeBrincat is in Chicago again this offseason as well.

“It was a combination of things,” Strome’s agent Mark Guy said of the decision to remain in Chicago. “It was something the team recommended just based on the success that DeBrincat had the year before, and it was also Dylan feels very comfortable there. He likes the setup there, he likes the people he was going to be working with, and the fact that Alex is going to be there doing it again and a few of the other players made sense for him to stay.”

Blanks, I guess. He really hurt our pride mentioning 3 cups, which is more than what the Yotes have. They are the worst team in all professional sports.

I don't know when his college season will end exactly, but I'm just saying there could be a chance for him to be a late season addition to the Hawks in some circumstances, maybe due to injury or trades. The trades could be likely if the Hawks are looking like they might miss the playoffs and they decide to move a Dman or two at the TDL. Maybe his college season will run too long, but I thought we've seen some college players come over at the tail end a few times.

Forgive my ignorance, but is his team in that for sure? Or do they need to qualify. I don't follow that tourny closely.

Stan drafts smallish puck moving Dmen and trades for slow non puck
moving Dmen......

Then he trades the two guys who can move the puck up from the Dzone
Gus get's most of his lay in Ozone starts......none of it makes sense

The Hawks Dmen will be lucky to score 35 goals this year.

Seabs/Keith first pairing out on the top PK....oh wait last PK by
a mile in league.

The defense as is doesn't impress.

It’s like the basketball final four, you have to keep winning to get there. The 4 regional winners advance to Detroit.

I was indicating that was the absolute latest he could come after his college season was over, assuming Denver goes all the way.

They have to qualify, but he's the bestest player in all of college hockey, surely they'll make it with him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, like i even have to ask, but if we waive Dahlstrom or 4k and a team claims him off waivers, the player has to remain on the roster for the rest of the season?
- BetweenTheDots

Not sure how that works as far as a waiver claim and impact on the roster. Maybe others do?

You must not know much about our history. Faxing paperwork to the league office is a bit of a sore spot around here.
