I'm starting to wonder if the "strength" of a draft is just going to keep going "up" because young players are so molded and trained from childhood now that they all seem ready earlier than people used to expect historically.

Marner wants what Matthews got or something close. Dubas has to let him sit it out for the sake of the team dynamics and the league.

I'd like all the teams with big name RFAs to let them sit it out for the season.... Then next summer there will be a strike, so teams will save money on salary, bonuses and the like until after a new deal gets hammered out.

I agree that the lineup is more or less set. Doubt the number on mitch is that low even on a bridge deal, $10.5 if I was guessing. There is still room for a small tweak or two. Possibly a league minimum veteran D-man looking for a home close to training camp.

Just went to NHL.com for a sec to see what they had up there. They've got their latest Fantasy forward top 100 rankings, and one of the things noted is that Kadri makes the list.

What a surprise! He's no longer a Leaf and suddenly makes a list for good forwards! I guess he's a good player now!
