Let me share an unpopular opinion and say that I hope Mikheyev turns into the next Panarin.

Well, if agree with you but Hyman was with marner and Tavares last season, and their production certainly wasnt hurt by him there. and I do think Willie and matthews loved playing with him.
- mykokes

I know. He played that spot well..

But still, can’t ignore his cement hands..

I’m not complaining about him playing in the top 6, I guess it’s the best option besides mango. But with Mikheyev in the mix, at least it’ll create some healthy competition.

I actually hope he is just OK this year and turns into Panarin next year after signing a 4 year 1.2 million AAV contract with the Leafs.

It’s possible he could..

If he gets on a streak with Leafs fans pumping him up, he could be super confident. By all reports he’s got the skill and plays the right way.

If he puts up more points than Nylander, and is willing to take less $$ than willy, then I think Willy’s in trouble.

The last couple Euro-projects didn't turn out so great.

Eventually one has to work out, right?

I think he's American born and spent a lot of time playing in the US.

Like all these prospects, they're going to need time in the AHL.

Looking back at Panarin, he scored 60 in the KHL then 20 in the playoffs and he was 23 and then stepped into playing with Kane and the Blackhawks.

Not sure any of the guys Dubas has signed is on that level. They all look like depth guys at best.

Mitch is going to be putting up 100+ pts. Those players you just don’t let go, no matter how much he wants, you find a way to pay it.

And he’s much more than just a playmaker. Anyways, you know all this and I said my piece. I stand by my prediction.

- Tanooki

I hope he comes under your prediction

But Panarin played for the Red Army.. with guys like Kovalchuk and Dadonov.. Mikheyev played for some Jabroni team. 11pts in 13 playoff games..

Tbh, I just hope he signs and he’s happy.

No one knows what the cap is going to be in the future, so freaking about about cap space is kinda moot. They have enough to pay him this season. Take it one year at a time.

And he outscored them.

And if you look at Mikheyev's team, it's littered with former NHLers. Like almost a dozen of them.
